QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Success for 2x pax BNE-MEL in whY 25th October. Flights were $350pp (not sure why so expensive) so good value for once with points.

I am recently just turned P1 and never tried to unlock reward seats, but would love some help from the pros. I need UK anywhere back to Aus anywhere from the 16th to 25th Aug 2027 business class 2 seats. is it achievable, should I call the P1 help line?
Help please

I checked using the flightseats.io Qantas Platinum Classic Reward Request Tool, which looks for availability of sale and saver fares. Unfortunately it's not looking good, but it never hurts to ring and ask.

The requirement for P1 to do release is D booking class. And you can request for a manual review if the bot declines as well.

As for youe timing, the flights themselves would have barely been loaded so it usually takes a little bit before discounted booking codes show up if they're not there today.

You can request for QF2, QF10. If you're willing to reposition to Rome or Paris then the Qantas flights from those city would also be on the cards (plus cheaper too as it won't have LHR departure tax).

Basically if it fails today, I wouldn't give up and you can try again in a few week or month and yes it can have different results.

All dependent on QFs voodoo black magic yield management algorithms.

Euro summer is generally a black out period for Aus to Europe and VV,
You can ask for a bot (computer release) but that time period is usually excluded for manual review.

Worth a try but don’t be disappointed if they can’t escalate it for you.
