QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

HKG has always been near impossible in December I've discovered historically

I've had J (and F back when it ran) seats released on HKG in December a few times. Usually requested at T-353

that would surely be because we're 6 months out?
I had no issues last year, it was wide open (that was in July)
I was able to get
  • QF79 MEL-NRT Dec 25 Business
  • QF26 HND-SYD Jan 5 Business
released with no issues. The surrounding dates (Dec 22, 23, 26, Jan 3, 4) were also available. Both were showing I1 on ExpertFlyer.

On the website there were zero Classic Rewards available for this time period in any class of travel (even Economy), so it was a pretty use of the benefit to get these released over the Christmas period.
