Transferred 10,000 points from Mrs deka2"s CBG, which landed today.
No bonus yet

Same here. Just transferred 40k which landed but no bonus.

Suspect the bonus will be applied in a few days.

They seem to have. I assume it was because of the half-assed T&Cs. But it was all over the page on Wednesday, so definitely not "targeted".

Probably, maybe too many people assumed that their direct sweep cards would be eligible and it was causing them perception issues having to tell them they weren't.

So it doesn't apply to direct sweeps? Oh well, I have 60,000 citibusiness points I can transfer so that's a nice 9,000 point bonus.

So it doesn't apply to direct sweeps?

Correct, only to the three or so options which allow transfer to Qantas or other airlines. QFF decided back in about 2008/2009 to severely limit the cards which could do this, and almost all cards which earn QFF can only earn QFF.

Other airlines such as Virgin, Singapore and Cathay have a much wider array of discretionary transfer partners (Amex, rewards programs of most Australian banks, Diners). As I learned when Ansett went bust in 2001 and when Delta devalued their charts in 2008, better to warehouse points in places like Amex so that all their airline transfer partners would have to simultaneously devalue or go bust for me to have the value of my points reduced or eliminated.

It's just a different kind of risk though? You transfer it onto the bank/credit card who could unilaterally adjust their redemption rates.

I agree with the strategy, but the risk is definitely still there.

Yes, but bank/credit cards don't unilaterally adjust their redemption rates will all partners at the same time. Recently, Diners reduced the redemption rate to Velocity, so a devaluation, but the rate you can convert to other programs such as SPG were unchanged so value was preserved.

I transferred 60K of CBG points too. They have made my Qantas account, but no bonus in site yet.

Red Roo, it's been strange to see a promotion go so unpromoted, what with it having completely disappeared from the website. Can you please confirm that it is still current?

Transferred about 100K points from my Citibusiness Platinum Card to my Citibusiness Gold which already had 200K and then rang Citibank on the 12th to transfer all to Qantas, to my dismay they say it will take 5 to 7 days to transfer them. Supposedly the transfer of points is now handled by a different department. The previous times I have transferred points it was very quick. It looks like I will miss out on 45K points :(

Suspect they're just covering their bases and think the transfer will happen pretty quick. Mine hit within 48 hrs and I only transferred them last week :)

I totally agree. I've performed a few transfers in as many months and they were generally completed within 48 hours. As for the promotion, I'm sure QF will award the bonus based on when the transfer was initiated at origin, not when they hit the QF activity statement. For example, with Citi I see:

23 JUL 13 CITIBANK PLATINUM REWARDS 22JUL13 - - - 60,000

which matches up with when I called and transferred the points from Citi (22 Jul 2013), and when it hit my QFF account (23 Jul 2013), so I'd be reasonably comfortable that seeing as the T&C state:

* This offer is available only once to the addressee of this email. You will receive a 15% bonus on the total amount of Qantas Points transferred between 12:00am (AEST) on 6 November 2013 and 11.59pm (AEST) on 15 November 2013. Your bonus Qantas Points will be rounded up to the nearest whole Qantas Point. Please allow up to 10 working days after the offer has closed for the Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account with the description 'Card Transfer Bonus'.

that QF will do the right thing and award the bonus up to 10 working days after they receive the transfer, provided it was initiated at origin no later than 15 Nov 2013. Maybe I'm just too trustworthy...?

Red Roo, again, could you please confirm that this offer is valid for all QFF members. There is still unaddressed confusion as to whether this was a targeted offer or not.... even the page that was widely accessible from the ad on the Qantas website for the first couple of days:

Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Card Transfer Offer

says

We are sending you this offer as you have redeemed rewards points earned on a credit or charge card for Qantas Points in the past.

As the terms and conditions state, this offer is valid until 11.59pm (AEST) on 15NOV 2013. Should you have any specific queries or concerns, please be in touch with our Frequent Flyer team directly.

For your reference, we often have special offers available across our membership base. Due to the volumes and limited space on the website, they may rotated inside the offer period. Some offers are targeted, and all eligible claims will be honoured within the specified terms and conditions.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks. So it's safe to say that this one was available to all members rather than targeted?

@Red roo can you confirm that QF will base this bonus on the date the transfer was initiated?

I have 15k pts on my Citibusiness account and put a transaction through yesterday for $5k - this has yet to show up in my reward points / online transactions (but I expect it will happen overnight), so will a transfer initiated tomorrow (15/11 - still within the promotion period) attract this bonus if it lands in the account on 16/11 (as is typical with citibank)?

I transferred from an Amex card (spirit program).
This is what my QF statement shows that it credited on 8th Nov but the transfer happened on 7th Nov.
So I would presume that it would be when you make the transfer that is the important part vs when it actually credits as that is an issue for the respective IT systems.
QF want the points buying from 3rd party organisations ... so I can't see them shafting anyone who transfers on the last day as it wouldn't bode well for future promotions.

08 NOV 13AMEX MEMBERSHIP REWARDS 07NOV13

Oh I should note that no bonus points have been credited as yet

Transferred a bucket of points a few months ago so its a shame that those points missed out on the 15% bonus.

Transferred 20,000 pts on Thursday and they hit my QFF account on Friday without any bonus points. I've held up my end so I'm sure that QF will hold up their end of the deal :)

I transferred 82536 points on Friday. They have posted. Awaiting the bonus points in the next couple of weeks. With the 35000 from the HSBC credit card I will have enough for another RTW before I do the first RTW. Only problem will be I won't have any leave!!
