Hi. I am looking at making an award booking for next year to LA and have come across something strange. I was under the impression that QF93, QF94 & QF11, QF12 were all A380 flights.

However the link that opens up the details on the flight say it's not so. QF11 & QF93 on the way out say yep A380.

However on the way back when selection the QF94 and or QF12 flights it says- Boeing 747-400

Is this a mistake on the Qantas site or is indeed correct?

Thanks in advance.

At this point they don't have enough A380's to make every flight an A380. Sydney is increasing to four flights a week on the A380 with the arrival of the lastest A380. The A380's later in the year are expected to increase the frequency on SYD-LAX to daily, but this would probably not be reflected in the timetables for next year at the moment.

So I should plan for the worst (as I am going to go J class each way) and hope for the best in that it becomes an A380 flight mid next year?

QF009- Thanks for that link. Very helpful.

One newbie question.

I can make a booking online with either the Classic or Any Seats awards. Both allow me to use the minimum of 192000 points with the difference being that to buy the rest with the Classic AWards is around $100 cheaper.

Now is there any benefit to paying the extra $100 and going with the Any Seats Awards i.e your booking is more secure, you have more flexability with seats, you have more options?

Thanks again.

Does anybody have any idea if QF94 is scheduled to switch to an all A380 schedule this year? I'm scheduled to fly LAX-MEL in September but on one of the 747 days. I'd really like to be on the A380....

Thanks,

Jim

Check the link already posted: Flying with Us - Qantas A380 - Qantas A380 Implementation Schedule

It indicates QF11/QF12 are now daily, however QF93/QF94 are still at three days per week. Currently 6 are operating.

This is unlikely to change by September as Qantas have deferred the delivery of the 7th 388 until Q4-2010 and the 8th until Q1-2011.
