QF1 Delayed

That was a little cheeky Tony

FTR i was not nasty to the lass at all at first and she turned when i stepped out of line to help an elderly lady who fell when her walking stick slid out from under her.

Apparently helping others is against the rules and you need to stay in line no matter what.... I couldnt then and still can't see the reason for not stepping in and helping a fellow human who needs it...

There was some good that came out of it though as both of the security blokes were football supporters too and we had a great chat so the time flew by.

Cheers

He does - or used to, anyway.
As it turned out, far from a hopeless case, though.
Obstacles with checking bags through but brilliant service from the P1 and F team, including at the LHR end, and excellent cabin service throughout.
About to board next flight.....Cheers.

Well
sitting in t3 f lounge and we are delayed by 2.5 hours. I found this out by googling the flight number as BA don't announce delays and the flight boards aren't configured to do so ( as told by lounge door person - not a dragon this time).

I am going to have a separate rant about the rest of the journey. BA and lhr have just given me the most absurdly bad experience that I need some time to compose my thoughts.

Put it this way anyone planning a Dom uk connection to oz through lhr should seriously add 2 hours to their connection time or look at alternative routes.

Current lhr security make the tsa look like reasonable and rational human beings. And BA deserve the Bloody Awful acronym the hhave earned.

We were offered from memory a 2.5 hour connection between our BA Newcastle and QF Sydney flights in January 2013. I am glad I decided to go for the 5.5 hour connection at LHR as I too was very nervous at such a short connection. We will enjoy the J Lounge, better still the F Lounge if the points upgrades go through. Thanks for reaffirming my decision as the missus was not happy about my decision.

Turns out QF2 was late out of LHR, due to an inconsiderate traveller kicking up a fuss about not being in a window or aisle seat.

The wait was not comfortable due to the fact the APU was apparently not working so the air con on the ground was ineffective.

Made up most of the time into SIN so not an issue for most apart from the lost lounge time

Thank you. Forty five hours door-to-door. But in surprisingly good shape on (eventual) arrival. Much of that courtesy of F on the 380, for the long haul sectors, of course. Is there any better way to travel?

I dropped the missus off at Sydney airport earlier today around 2pm and was surprised to see 3 A380's around the terminals; 1 at T1 for the LAX service and 2 in the maintenance area in and around T3. Seems that neither of the A380's in the maintenance area were just waiting for gate clearance to drop onto the LHR flight as today's QF1 is shown as departing at 0800 tomorrow morning so looks like problems again. The fleet is also back to 11 of 12 too after OQL arrived back from Manila.
