How on earth do i get through to the QF Platinum Premium Desk?

I have called twice... (the special 13 xx xx number) for WP and both times i asked them if it was the premium desk. Both times they said no, this is QF reservations..

My calls were during business hours and I pressed '1' when i got the recording.

I found that my calls to that number have been going to a 'normal' person lately too. Premium Desk operator always declared themselves as premium desk, so I knew when it was one (and it was mainly when I called out of hours that I got through to non-premium desk), but I haven't come across one of those for the last couple of weeks.

I have also had this issue when trying to submit a request for an exit row seat on an international flight. On two occassions I was told that this was not possible. I then realised that this was because I wasn 't actually talking to the premium desk

Should be able to just phone 131211 , enter your membership number and then select 1 for domestic or 2 for international. If the Premium Desk is busy it will divert to the regular reservations but at a high queue priority

When ever I call (0396585302) and plug in my FF number, I get the premium desk. This includes my quick call today.

If all Premium Desk CSA's are busy (from their office in Camberwell, Vic); then call overflow is firstly re-routed to the QF Reservations office in your state, or if there are queues there, then onto an office where there are no queues (or shortest).

It is QF's desire to answer Plat members queries as fast as possible - if that means by a non-Plat Desk person, then so be it.

If you are getting no satisfaction from your connected call to QF Res, then all you can do is try and call back when there are no queues for the Plat Desk. There's no easy answer for that queation (other than after midnight and before 5am).

I have had the same problem recently. I'm generally not fussed who answers the phone, but it is a bit annoying when they tell you that they can't help you and you know that it's something that they always take care of at the premium service centre.

What are some examples that you have come accross?

Submitting a request for an exit row on an international flight. The standard desk will tell you that all they can do is put a note in your file and the check-in agnet will se of they can assign an exit seat. The premium desk will usually confirm an exit seat within an hour of the request being submitted (sometimes this can be confirmed while you are still on the phone)

another example is changes to fares booked through corporate TA. Often when I travelling, I end up changing flights/plans at short notice. Premium are always happy to change my flights around for me.

The normal service centre refuse to make changes unless the flight is in the next 1 - 2 hours (which is pretty pointless, as I'd already have to be at the airport in some cases) - instead, they insist that I go through the TA, which can sometimes involve 30 minutes on the phone, or worse, leaving a msg and waiting to be called back.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I did not know they would do that - certainly worth remembering.

Ahh, now that explains whY sometimes I have been able to have changes made and other times I have not.

Just rang the 96xx_xx_ number posted previously and got straight through to the premium desk :D.

Had seat 46H confirmed for flights to and from LAX.

They were also able to link my separate QF and AA itineraries so less chance of a mis-connection LAX-DFW.

All I need now is that elusive op-up to J ;)
