QF PER-SIN cancelled, rebooked on Jetstar? Is this acceptable?

Re: QF PER-SIN cancelled, points earning on replacement flights

Sometime before 13 Mar (see first page of posts on this thread) I changed my PER-SIN flight to PER-MEL-SIN. And received a new eTicket.

Yesterday I flew those flights. On check-in, I was told - Oh you have already flown the PER-MEL sector. A call to the supervisor (or operations elsewhere) permitted the quite pleasant lady to check me in for both the QF flights and the connecting MH flights SIN-KUL-CMB.

As QF flights normally post promptly to the QFF program I checked today and the MEL-SIN flight had credited BUT NOT the PER-MEL flight. Recall this is a single PNR.

While I will wait a couple of days to query QFF, I think I will be VERY UNHAPPY if policy is that you only get credit for the international leg.

Thoughts comments?

My unhappy start to wandering

Fred

Likely an error. Mine posted inaccurately too. Just chase it up.

Re: QF PER-SIN cancelled, points earning on replacement flights

Looks like they're not all good ...
XX MAY 14 QF 317 ECONOMY 25MAY14 PERTH/SINGAPORE - - - 0 0

Useless.

Need some thoughts. DCIR26 booked through AA and ticketed AA HKG agent. Changes to QF77.

Called QF and they say can only go via Au port, if want CX via HKG then call my agent.

Does this sound reasonable or should they be able to do it? They can do it easily for 081-issue stock.

Is easier to call the desk than email AA HKG, not that they are bad at all.

Commercial policy permits the changes overall so that's not an issue.

Thoughts?

You might need to go through AA. QF have refused to change anything on my ticket as I want to go to MH instead. So I called up 28 deg and asked for a charge back.

BTW Scoot was awesome! The room in the mini cabin behind scootbiz is spectacular for the money!

Just returned from an overseas trip Perth _ Singapore, the Perth flight out July 9 was on the QF 77,and as we know Qantas cancelled flights July 20 so they gave us various options to get back to Perth. ie via KL , Syd etc, we took the shorter time one with Jetstar, we got a $ 10 voucher each, the meal was $11( out of pocket straight away ) then a wine $ 7. This is a much cheaper flight than what the QF 78 would have been , you get a10 buck voucher and NO compensation on the difference between the price of the 2 flights, is it worth a email to complain or am I being a bit Pedantic? Your thoughts please

You took the shorter flight. Presumably the voucher was mentioned at the time and you accepted it.

No mention of a voucher till the came along with meals etc, then we thought that's ok , till they hit us with the prices etc,

Unfortunately it seems you were given adequate alternate flights, although I think they should have given you more voucher money to cover food + drinks considering you would get it included on QF. You could always try and ask for some compensation but I doubt you will get much considering they offered you alternate flights.

Personally I would have taken the via KUL option, its only an hour to KUL then the next available MH flight to PER or ADL. Sure it would have taken a bit longer, but at least you would of had some comfort and lounge access in KUL (with your QF SG).

Best of luck, let us know how you go.

That was our first thought about going to KL but the next flight to Perth was the next day and we asked do QF put us into a hotel, you can guess what that answer was! yes that's right NO

hi bobe,
I think you are within your rights to complain!! I am still "waiting" using the term loosely, for a callback from the team about my flights in October. Frankly between all my commitments I gave up on Qantas helping me, as an semblance of an adequate flight time disappeared in the first week. Travelling with kids I booked a full service airline for a reason - so lengthy flight times were also distressing. It is a lose-lose for me - and for most of us with those flights I guess.... Over the many months since I originally to see if I could find an alternative I called Qantas and I was told we would get $30 per person credit - but of course as the mystical mythical team have never called me to confirm if so I wouldn't have a clue if that is correct. If I was you I would definitely be arguing that you should be getting at least the $30. I hope it all went smoothly for you at the airports with your bags etc. Let us know the outcome if you do send in some feedback to Qantas!
