Besides the HKG route, which other QF international routes still uses the old 747s? Are SIN and NRT using new refurbished 747s-A380 style? I'm planning on heading out to SIN later in the year (thx to expedia.br) and I'm still deciding whether to go with the A330 (QF5) or the 747(QF81) route in Y?

Is there really any noticeable difference in Y?

I wouldn't waste too much time on the decision. The products in Y are virtually identical.

Choose based on price and convenience, not product.

I think it's QF 5 which is operated by B744 and QF 81 by A333...

There are significant differences between product, namely IFE and the availability of in seat power between a non refurb 744 and a refurb. The lack of power is a biggy in my books.

QF 51 BNE-SIN is a 747. I am booked for the 12th May in J and no idea whether it's a refurb or not

No row 4 means a refurb which it often is.

The refurbished B747 Economy cabin is fitted with an award winning seat design, and offers noticeable features such as a larger IFE screen with over 1500 entertainment options, in-seat PC power and USB ports, and a self service snack bar.

Shame these are not in economy on the 744 that Qantas have not refurbished.¹

¹ I know, they are soon to be put out to pasture ... in a year or six ...

And the non re-furbed 747s don't have award winning seat design, have smaller IFE screens with fewer entertainment options and don't have a self service snack bar?

There are birds taking pax to prime destinations, and will be for some time.
