Yeah I don't get some people, why "Like" a FB page, to then bag it out on every opportunity....
Oh wait, some people have no life, I forgot that...

I'd love to fly one, but never get allocated that seat....

Really? Maybe this will be a new benefit of WP1

From this article -

Qantas, Virgin Australia aircraft interiors battle | Boeing 737

I'm also interested in the new seats as well -

'Qantas is also introducing Marc Newson-designed leather business class seats in a new claret colour scheme and says it already has Newson-styled Weber economy seats designed to provide extra legroom in all its new 737-800s. The airline is providing international standard seat-back video on demand in its new planes.'

Can't wait really......

I upgraded to J CNS - BNE last Friday on QF655 which was new B738 VH-VZR.

Didn't get a look into Y but J wasn't a whole lot different, apart from in-seat videos. CSM struggled to find the handset and complained that the new aircraft had him puzzled slightly.

I know! One guy sprouted for qantas to bring maintenance onshore again but until they do he'll fly SQ and ek! Go figure!!

Yep, certainly some strange, well thought out comments there. :|

Sent from my iphone and AFF app :)

One guy on there: "love all the dj staff on here slamming qf....go away" :p

Oh Facebook, you so funny.

Does anybody know an arrival date for the aircraft? :)

First Boeing Sky Interior 738

The first 737-800 with the Boeing Sky Interior will enter service from October 11.

It will have the Panasonic AVOD entertainment system and will also feature leather seats in Business Class.

The aircraft registration is VH-VZT

Does anyone know the route that this will be? I am currently scheduled to take a 737-800 CBR-PER on the 11th. Probably not the highest profile route to take for the first day.

I usually don't take 737s but had to recently from Adelaide QF 764 03OCT11. It was a 737 with the Panasonic system and gate to gate entertainment. We also had a full range of recent movies. Made the flight fly past very quickly. The challenge is then picking a movie that can be watched within the flight time.

*waits for the uproar about leather seats like virgin received*
It'll happen - I don't like them on any aircraft.

Sitting on An AA 752 in First from HNL-xLAX-ORD was a damp sweaty experience - the same for JQi Star-class BKK-MEL. Needing to try to sleep is the thing that make them far worse.

At least it won't be so bad for little domestic flights.

I have no idea if it's the same plane, but I'm flying QF579 on 16 Oct which is listed as a 737-800 (Winglets).
