HKG for me on the 28th. Need to decide on MEL-HKG or MEL-SYD-HKG. Latter is more appealing for extra SC's. If I could tie an int'l MEL-SYD onto SYD-HKG would get both lounges in the same day

If you choose MEL-HKG on QF on the 28th, we will likely bump into each other in the lounge ;) .

Has anyone any idea how the kerbside concierge will work?

How it works in SIN for SQ (and FRA for LH) is special entrance for F pax. Porter takes bags in for you. Comfy seats inside. The check in staff come over to the seat to collect your stuff and check you in, returning with BP passport and immigration forms. Unlike AKL there is no special immigration lane (but there is a shortcut to immigration).

I'm hoping 23rd is accurate. MEL on 27th May (morning) and SYD on 2nd June (middle of day)

I wonder if there is a date in which a few people will be passing through SYD/MEL...
Would be kinda fun to have someone to shout me a few drinks in the F lounge....;)

what date(s) did you have in mind?

Wel I do have a SYD-MEL trip to do in the last week of May..
Need to firm up exacts but I probably could shift things around to suit.. It is probably easier for me to move a DOM flight than those of you doing an INT flight.

I plan to be in the MEL FLounge on the evening of 28th May.

I have found a couple of fligths that I can take out of SYD that may suit, including QF19 SYD -BNE and QF 136 SYD-MEL.... I may need to take both if I plan things right.. now for the dates...

Is there any from MEL to BNE or SYD from INT terminal?

Unfortunately nothing direct, so you may have to travel via HKG :p .

You know better than to give a challenge like that....I may end up on the same plane as you..just not in the pointy end.

I'll be sure to have the CSD take you back a glass of the good stuff ;) .

QF73 operates MEL-SYD-SFO twice a week. Departs MEL around Noon IIRC.
As does QF 180.. both on a Sunday....Food for thought

Been there, done that, too many times. I know IainF and have shared many drinks with him, but even as a friend there are limits when it comes to giving up a J seat. Then again, if my waitliested upgrade comes through, he can try for an upgrade to my unused J seat :).
