I would book each via SYD and via MEL now :p (Someone get to travel to SYD in Business class.) Then put an alert on Expertflyer or similar to see if another First Seat subsequently appears on QF11 or QF93 - then you can switch.
serfty I did actually book the F ex MEL - will wait and see if another one appears - I have never set up an alert before but will try to work it out.

i won't have a word said against those QF F scuffs! Have just been travelling after foot surgery, which meant swelling and bandages. Could find nothing suitable to give a bit of protection to the foot, without pressure in all the wrong places. A bunch of QF F scuffs has now seen me through four airports, Mayan ruins, Cenotes, Mexican beaches and lots of tropical puddles!
:D :D:D
I will love them forever! :)

Glad you liked them :)

I was actually thinking about them on one of my flights - wondering why I didn't like them... and it comes to the design.

Every other airline has slippers with a firm 'bridge' meaning you can wake up and slide your feet right in and go to the WC. The QF ones you can't do that - you actually have to bend down and lift the roof of the slipper up so you can slide your feet in. Fiddly. More so when travelling with an OAP.

The only thing i could work out was it was design vs practicality.

Clearly i have too much time to think about petty things

(and yes, i take my own slippers on QF flights... )

Now you see? You are criticising them again! :)

Just not on!
The firm bridge would not have worked for this particular OAP. :p

However, I have a lifetime supply of the current design - and hope I never have to use them again, for the same purpose - so I'm happy for you to lobby for a new improved model for the non-impaired or "differently impaired". :)

You don't need to say a word about them - you just gotta look at them - they are the poorest effort I have ever seen! Or worn! Yes I used them on return journey on VA LAX-MEL - VA supply socks in their poxy AP but you guys know how if you wear socks only to the bathrooms well they really only soak up the ............................

Replying from on board AA flight, ex-Mexico, with yet another QF F scuff doing sturdy duty (along with super quality compression hosiery)! :)

My challenge to you, CE:
1) Have foot surgery, with an ETA recuperation period of 4-6 days.
2) Add in an adverse reaction to post-op dressings.
3) incur infection and undergo a couple of courses of antibiotics.
4) Have long-planned family reunion trip booked for several weeks post-surgery, involving long haul travel, humid climate, action-packed itinerary, with several small children.
5) Accept revised recuperation period lasting to eve of travel.
5) Obtain medical clearance to travel on eve of departure.

Find stash of superb (okay, ranking is situation-specific) QF F slippers.
DO pass Go.
DO collect $200 (or whatever the amount is/was)
DO manage to travel, as scheduled.

Okay. :)
In other circumstances, I think my benchmark slippers are those from Monasterio, Cusco.
Other bids?

pj I hear ya sista - I hear ya. I would have no hesitation in adorning any attire if it meant diff bw int travel and no int travel.

When are you home? I can give you a dozen or so prs from CRH trains - much higher quality then the QF ones - just as flat footed - and ea pair comes compl with a you beaut handy dandy shoe bag compl with draw string at top - I am never short of shoe bags when packing now.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

Ea pair also come with a SHOE HORN - gotta love the Chinese!

LOVE shoe bags.

But shoe horns? You mean with a scuff-style slipper?
Oh, that's cute. :)

Well here is what you QF lovers might end up getting after MU finally take it over hollus bollus: A Grade / Super High Quality Scuffs:

And quality draw string shoe bag:

And including?

YEP - your very own shoe horn!

And the Parisian sourced Amenity Kit:

And here is the contents of the said Amenity Kit:

Now take note QF and VA - if MU can include a 5c folding hairbrush in the Amenity Kit why can't you guys? Stretching the budget a bit too far?

The current QF SK-II kits are pretty ordinary. Don't mind that they don't have a hairbrush (the previous Payot Kit did have) but the bag is cheap looking and the contents underwhelming I think. It's more like the J kits of old and in comparison with QF's competitors it isn't up to scratch.
I think the F amenity kits should be covetable (dare I say marketable?) and these aren't.

My pleasure:

And contents:

Note: PJs, scuffs, eye shades given separately of course - bathrooms stocked full with disposable tooth brushes, combs etc.

Have I missed anything? FTR: I have been informed by higher authorities that I am to never accept a male amenity kit again in future - apparently these female kits make wonderful gifts!

Very nice :)
I have never flown anything above Y on SQ, perhaps I should ;)

YES it's a Chinese thing - if you take your shoes off to use the scuffs you get a shoe bag to put your shoes in for journey - kinda makes sense - and they do come in oh so handy post journey.

How does the QF F amenity kit compare to Emirates F?. I know the Emirates J kit blows the QF J out of the water.

It all depends what you're looking for!

Many airlines have gone down the path of using 'high end' names for cosmetics - even though the houses may not be known for making cosmetics. I'd rather have tubes of 'proper' cosmetics than something a well known house has put their name to.

I think QF had one of the best kits with their Payot brand. Shame they have ditched them.
