Well if you merged your ideas with the 747 fire fighting plane in action in SoCal this week, you could have a full time job with Evergreen... the ultimate in recycling.

Nicer amenities in the front loos too.

Not really.

Normally the only difference is a little bouquet of flowers, which are made of plastic and you'd be lucky if they are even there!

This thread has now dribbled on for so long I need to go off to the toilet:!: :(

Now should I go to the one near the TV room or go to the front of the house to my 'F' toilet:?:

I must go to the back one :(

I think it all could be resolved with the introduction of the ISP (In-Seat-Potty).

Imagine a plumbed toilet built in below each seat!

A retractable 'modesty screen' could be built into the armrest. This could eliminate all that bothersome clambering over each other mid-flight to go the toilet.

You could even continue your conversation with your seat mate, or eatiing your meal :)shock:) whilst going about your business.

The airlines could remove the toilets and install more seats (ok, they may have to leave one lav for the crew).

The ISP is a bloody awesome idea! And if you're travelling J/F in a lie flat bed, imagine going to the loo whilst laying down? I hope there is an electric control so you can slide the loo just for the right spot :D

I went outside and used the lemon tree instead. Not so easy if you are flying though. :D

It's certainly possible, the only problem is that you would have to deposit it in the quarantine bin at the airport when you arrive!

One of my more annoying J experiences, having hit the diuretics myself, (Not to mention an FA trying to empty the bottle of wine in me), waiting in my seat for the amenities only to have a Y pax rush past as soon as the J pax exited stage left. Not aided that it takes me a good 20 seconds to get out of a seat and start walking. Hence I'm almost rigidly a Y toilet Y pax.

The ISP is a very interesting idea. And it can already be partially implemented with a length of tubing and some tape. ;) (did i spend too much time of the hill at the cricket?)

Otherwise dare I suggest carrying around an empty 600 ml coke bottle for emergency situations?

Maybe an environmental prize.

Do you realise how much methane humans produce every day? We could harness that energy and save on airline fuel burning and costs.

Not to mention a natural source of fertilizer, thus saving on ammonia production and providing another income stream for the airline.....

Oh why do I say all this........:rolleyes:

Maybe they're already trialing this. VH-VXB last weekend had 1C with half the seat missing, no cushioning etc. or maybe someone had tried it in anticipation  needed a Troy Buswell to confirm that. Regardless, a surprise when first entering. Pity the poor pax with their beloved J ticket, unless there's a new aggressive seat blocking policy for CL/CIPs.

Now can we stop giving Ryanair ideas before their planes become an UK tabloid expose on Bernie Ecclestone.

When I am in J, I use the J loo. When I am in Y, I use the Y loo. It's just a simple courtesy thing towards J passengers for me not to enter their area.

If there are pressing reasons why Y passengers should be using J loos (e.g. urgent need but the aisle blocked by trolley), then I see nothing wrong with Y passengers using J loos, but it should not be a routine thing as far as I am concerned.

2 things:

(1) If they brought back the curtains, this would create more of a barrier and less people wandering up.

Unfortunately, it does not seem to always work. I'm a regular J traveller on BA European flights where there are curtains. The loo queue from Y passengers can form in J despite the curtains, if the crew are not enforcing the loo allocation policy.

What completely baffles me is why would anyone want to use a toilet on a short haul flight? It's not like the flight is for 4-5 hours. On intra-European flights visitng the bathroom is a rather rare occasion, rather than the norm and this despite the fact that flights last for 2-3 hours and more. On LH flights curtain is drawn to separate the two classes and noone tries to go to the front bathroom from the back. If this occurs then drink cart is placed to block the passage to the front cabin. Premium pax should be able to use a clean loo and Y-pax should not be allowed to the front to turn the front loo into a pigsty like it is in the back of the plane.

I had a flight Sydney to Brisbane recently on a 737-800. I was near the front of Y and a passenger from behind went up and used the J toilet. Then the meal service came out so when the passenger came out he was blocked. He asked the crew if he could get past. The crew asked which row his seat was in so they could move a bit forward to let him in, but he said he was in row 17 and the crew did not look happy, so they had to move the cart back to the front of J to let him past.
