QF- Coke Zero

The push from CCA to "Zero for men, Diet COke for women" must be working after I asked for a Diet coke BNE-SYD on firday, and was told "we have coke zero now, would you prefer that".

A Question for 737 - have they (Coke) done any presentations / left marketing materials (other than the cans in the drinks fridge)?

Sadly, I can top this - just this week asked for a coke and got the same answer - "we have coke zero now".

I took the hint and went with the zero. :(

Can someone explain the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke?

I have been having Diet Coke the last couple of months and it is not too bad in small quantities. I have also been trying Sprite Zero (is there a diet Sprite?) and again it is not too bad as well.

Would love to have the full version of either but need to cut down on the carbohydrates.

As an aside a few years I tried Pepsi Max as a mixer for Scotch instead of Pepsi or Coke and I did not like it. Perhaps I can mix the Scotch with Dry Ginger Ale and continue to have the Vodka and Orange.

Different chemical mix, Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k.

There used to be but now it seems to have changed to all Diet Sprite. I was somewhere recently and they had both but now it seems to be all Sprite Zero.

Double post, took a very long time to actually post.

Pass on the coke whatever type it is.
Bundaberg Ginger Beer in the can is a nice
refresher, cant say the same for James Squires (can)

Sure with a stack of carbs and diabetes on the side :p Not with summer on the way!
Time to shred up!

I find Coke Zero has a hint of cherry coke to it, and I find it easier to drink with less of an aftertaste than Diet Coke

I may ask for a Coke Zero on my flight today. I had a Diet Coke earlier and it is not too bad.

Now for the taste test should I save the Coke Zero and drink with a Diet Coke to compare the difference or do you think it will be noticeable as soon as one drinks it?

At the end of the day though if I reduce the sugar intake it has to be good for me.

I find it pretty different to Diet Coke but some people can't tell the difference.

It's all down to how much of a connoisseur of colas you are :)

I certainly find them quite different in taste.

Personally I find any diet drink terrible.. I find it has almost a metallic aftertaste..

That's how Diet Coke tastes to me - the metallic aftertaste.
I don't notice it with Coke Zero though - I quite like it.

The same thoughts from me also though we should be posting this after JohnK does his impartial and independent taste test :!:

Mrscove says coke out of the small glass bottle is way tastier than out of a can or a plastic bottle.
Does anyone share her thoughts ?

Yes, it seems to have a very different taste to it, same applies for coke served in a glass from a bar or similar. Seems a lot sweeter to me.
