I received an invitation from QF to a long wait on the phone, in the form of an involuntary change to my flight LHR-MAN. Instead of moving our connection back when BA cancelled flights, they have moved it forward. QF 1 is scheduled to arrive at 6:35am, and the BA flight departs at 6:45. Their message says they are monitoring for transit time!

There seems to be a thread on this sort of ‘robo change’ every day :(

BA is fine with lounge access per OW rules, long haul connecting to short haul. So shouldn’t be any issues with getting in.

Personally I would just leave the flight as it is and be protected on the later flight (assuming the flight isn’t sold out).

so what's the bet BA play hardball on lounge access for OW traveller transitting International J to Domestic Y?!!
They shouldn't - oneworld has a Class of Service (COS) connecting flights rule that if an international leg is over 5 hours and a connecting leg is 5 hours or less then lounge access at all departure points is based on the COS of the international flight of over 5 hours.

BA moved it forward. QF didn't. Although QF will have to fix up if their booking.

I acknowledged that with my first post. But only QF can fix it, even if it was BA that moved the flight forward.
I suppose BA moved it earlier to avoid any EU261 payment? (or the new UK equivalent). Might still be claimable depending on what happens on the day of travel.

I have the same except its a BA flight connecting to BA. They moved me onto a flight with 5 mins connecting time and I'm absolutely dreading being on the phone for hours even as a QF Gold. I keep getting disconnected after holding for an age, and am very nervous with my OWA commencing in June.

My impression is that Qantas will know about these issues, the system automatically adjusts when BA changes their schedule, and if MCTs are breached, it gets put in a queue for manual review. I would recommend patience and see if you get a further message in the next week or so. Only if you haven't seen further adjustment would it be worth calling Qantas.

The problem is the next flight that day looks very full, and the longer I leave it the more chance I will be stuck in the terminal for 10 hrs or more.

I've got the same problem. After Qantas lost my Flights to Paris by not rebooking when flights changed. Now 2 weeks ago I received an email saying we have -1:25 transfer time in Kuala Lumpur on our return. Because Cathay moved our flight from London back by 4 hours. These flights are at the end of September which seems completely booked out. My task tonight is to spend hours on hold while working nightshift. Not sure how I'll go because it would rely on Malaysia Airlines releasing 2 Business seats on a later flight.

Well I managed to speak to someone (SA Centre I reckon), who was very helpful after a wait time of nearly 2 hrs including the initial 20mins which dropped out and the second one just over 1.5hrs. Luckily i had some work to do online, so was able to keep busy.

When I explained, she said like @jpp42 above that there is a team that looks at these changes for breaches of the min transit time. But as I said to the operator, the next flight looks very busy and I don't want to be stranded all day waiting for a flight.

At first she came back with a flight at 20:45, so a looong wait. Then she said what about 10:20, but realised just in time that it was from LGW not LHR. I then prompted her to look for the 13:45 flight, and lo and behold she was able to select it. So now just have to wait for the re-issue of the e-ticket to confirm. 🤞
