Now that would be a great experience (in J). I am guessing no award flights though ;)

Hmm - and the links dont work in the nonews article...

No points either, its a charter!

I seem to remember the last charter flight to antarctica found a cloud with a solid centre - NZ901

Mr!

There have been 4 or 5 a year for the last 10 years ex Aust.

Hope it's not like that ill-fated AirNZ flight all those years ago.

But $999 to sit in the middle of the aircraft in economy and not have the chance to rotate into a window seat doesn't sound like good value, that and it's not a point or SC earner :(

Now how many points do you earn for a SYD-SYD or a MEL-MEL flight?

1000 points of course

Now which domestic gates are A380 capable?

But did you look at the seating plan. The $999 seats also seem to include the exit rows towards the rear. :D

I had the amazing experience of being on what was at the time the only ever exclusive charter as part of a corporate gig a few years back. Brand new 747, flew further south than anyone ever had. The picture on my profile is from that flight. We were gone for 14 hours. We had J service throughout the entire aircraft. Amazing day and night. You could go anywhere in the plane to take photos, including F toilet!!

So what are rows 66 and 79 like on the qantas a380? Exit rows. Are there windows? Looks like there is some massive exit row thing on row 79?

I have sat in row 66 and row 80. Row 79 has no A or K seats making 80A/K the best (IMHO) Economy seats on the aircraft.

66A/K are v. good seats but very little view outside.

Technically it goes SYD - MEL - SYD. Just takes a lot longer on the return ;)
But you are purchasing SYD-SYD ;). Its like when you purchase LHR-SYD you get points/SCs for LHR-SYD not for LHR-SIN-SYD or LHR-BKK-SYD as you may actually fly. Its all about what the ticket says!

And I hope to god none f your tickets ever say just LHR-SYD ;)
