QF A380 Cabin - which section/seat is best?

I have 50A (Mrs munitalP) and 50C (Mr munitalP) SYD/LAX in a couple of weeks. the B seat has shown free on my QF "choose you seat" and I am keeping my fingers crossed otherwise some hasty reshuffling onboard.

Question - is there any leg room? 23ABC to be avoided at all cost on A330 - is A380 the same, or can a normal height person actually stretch their legs out - A330, I can't and find this extremely uncomfortable.
Plenty of space - see my post #74 above.

SWMBO used her rollaboard (upright) as a footrest ...

[EDIT]

Here's a photo of 51H/J/K (from a Member), the leg room is the same as in 50A/B/C - both of you would be fine.

Of course being a bulkhead, the armrests do not raise since the tray table is stored in them.

Is there enough room to actually exit out the front of 80A/K??
Plenty of room.

Although if you suffer from OCD or little things bother you then the person sitting in 79B/K is visible from 80A/K, in a creepy sort of way, and can be off-putting depending on what they are doing during the flight.

I even don't want to know  Have seen people read some "graphic magazines" before but that was just on a SYD-BNE

Yes - I hear Photoshop for Dummies can be quite graphic!

I dont actually know if I would like that open space in front - interesting. Where's the TV and tray - in the armrest? If so, I didn't think exit rows had solids...

Interesting thought... I actually think 80A/K is not considered exit row because I was not asked to pay for them, so in theory does this mean that we can put stuff (ie foot rest) there?

TV and tray are in the armrest but it is not an exit row. I actually love the space in a normal exit row seat.

For me 80A/K is a little weird but as mentioned is much better than normal economy seats. It does take some getting use to though.

Thanks for posting the photo of 51H/J/K. The bulkhead does not appear to be cut away ala row 40 in 747 config. Is this the case?
I have very long legs and find bulkhead where I can't stretch out to be excruciating.
On Oct 4 we are flying QF51 BNE-SIN which is 747 and I have 38A & C - so that should be fine.
SIN-LHR QF9 Returning LHR-SIN QF10 on Oct 24.
Right now I'm in 80K one way and 71D return. I've popped hubby (Short legs) in 81K and 69D but was happy to switch both of us to row 50 if they came available at T-80 and they had the same leg room as Row 40 on the normal 4 class 747. Now I'm wondering if I should reconsider? I may just pop him down there if they come available & keep my legroom.
Any long legged people out have any experience with these seats? My inseam is 38" or 96.5cm.
The front Y rows on SIN-BNE QF52 are still blocked so we are right up the back in 72A&B Hopefully those seats will open up.

While there is no cut out; I believe the leg room at the floor will be about the same as the 744.

However, being as tall as indicated I'd stick with the seats already allocated.

It's not an exit row and my footrest didn't impede the exit. I was not asked to move it at all, and it was a big, seat-height footrest.

I love the space in front. I love having a window seat you can walk out of like an aisle seat - best of both worlds.

Love it - when I get exit row, I generally put my carryon in front as a foot rest. - Where did you purchase your ottoman? It would also be good in the QPs en route.:p

I had to improvise, because I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere. Instead I got one of these whilst in Ireland: Guinness Pint Inflatable Cooler and stuffed my coat and bag inside it. Worked a treat.

You do not always get to do this.

See this post and those that follow:

Not so much told off, but asked to put my 5 litre daypack (which I use, not as a footrest, but as storage since no seatback pocket in front. I keep it tucked up at the front base of the seat)

I was caught up in the wash ¾ of the way into a 13 hour flight as 80A,79B/C/H occupants had been using their rollaboards as foot rests. An FA noticed this and told them they were not permitted to do it. He then noticed my tiny pack at the front of my 80K seat and said to me "you can put yours up too ...".:-|

I complied, but did ask for the CSM as I was not impressed.

We he came down I had an extended (pleasant) discussion of this issue with the CSM, commencing with me saying "I know I had to comply with the instruction and have, but I believe it was a little ridiculous ...". He was looked surprised when I showed him my tiny backpack but supported his staff.

As I posted, enforcement varies.

I've just allocated 50A/B for a SYD-SIN in a few months time. Has anyone had success allocating 50A and 50C with B remaining vacant? We're WP+SG....

There does look to be a fair bit of room in the forward row. The QF seat map shows 2 windows in Row 50. Is that right?

I sat in 50A a few weeks ago (first time on an A380 Y after three visits in their J) and according to the F Lounge check in, 50B was blocked, and 50C had an off duty QF staff member. EF was showing 50B marked with an X whilst 50A/C was just shown as taken (no X's) so this appeared to be a pre-block, possibly the WP shadow but who knows.

That said, on board, 50B was taken so I started small talk with the guy in 50B and asked him how he managed to get that seat .... and he said, he just checked in as normal, requested an aisle seat but none were available so they gave him that. He was a student and had no status with any airline.

With respect to space, I'm a short fella at 5'5 and my legs can be outstretched straight and placed perpendicular to the bulkhead. Getting out was easy as long as B/C pax did not have their feet against the bulkhead. I can't recall the two windows but I wasn't paying attention either.

As I mentioned in post #74 here, if the bassinet is set up, then it's quite difficult for 50A/B PAX to get out.

Thanks. For fear of getting stuck in the window (I'm generally an aisle person, however I do enjoy the view of SIN in the evening) I allocated 50C for me and 50B for SG. Interestingly, 50A is available via my "manage my booking" however when logging onto Check My Trip it shows 50A as occupied (but everything else available to me in the cabin is open). Perhaps the WP Shadow is working... time will tell I guess.

Hmm ok well according to ExpertFlyer, 50A is available, so perhaps I got my hopes up!
