Didn't close it on QF539 BNE-SYD yesterday (on a 738).

I was in 4F, so I strolled up and used the front toilets just for the heck of it :)

Bet you didn't even need to go!

You just perambulated past all the J Pax because you could!

That's wicked

The closing of the curtain has been happening for the last couple of months, at least. Does it really matter if the curtain is closed?

As it should be:D
Now we wouldn't want those snobs up the front, with attitude, infiltrating the main cabin.

I also believe that air marshal's are not allowed to shoot "Back Pax" just for pushing past the curtain. Maybe with the instalation of a coughpit style door this may change. You don't see me heading down the back to use their facilities! The same common courtesy would be appreciated.
You really are serious! If you are ever in an emergency and the front exit doors are blocked then please do not use the exit doors at the back of the aircraft. You are not welcome back there. ;)

I am very surprised that there has not been a serious bite on this thread (by anyone) ;)
I am biting as I feel some people are serious. They have a silver spoon although it is not in their mouth. Very sad indeed....

Just ppp on the cubicle floor when you go forward from Row 4..that'll fix them.

I promise not to use the rear emergency exits..... UNLESS someone from the back has used the forward facilities. Then it's open slather.

If you knew me...... You'd know I'm about as serious as Tiger Airlines are luxurious!

I am serious about never flying economy though.... Not going to happen.

Geezus there are some precious freakin people on here! Some people need to get over themselves and remember that at the end of the day it's just a bloody dunny.

John,

All comments were made very tounge in cheek.

Curtain/no curtain who cares. I fly J for reasons other than being a snob.

With the advent of AFF tags I am sure we will eventually meet in a J lounge and have a laugh over the comments.

However if I ever see a AFF tag past the curtain to use the toilets I will ;) and :).

And you will find my comments were also made with tongue in cheek. :p

So you are saying if no AFF tag then no ;)? Well that rules me out so better go to toilet at the lounge before or after the flight.

By the way happy brithday for today. :)

Thanks John.

If you could wear a nametag that would suffice;)

Easy done. I have a few name tags with JohnK on them which should do the trick. And they did not cost me anything either. ;)

.... and your point is :?:

Don't be bashful, just say what you really mean :!:

There are also some people who NEED a little bit of privacy, for whatever reason.

I remember, back in 1992, when I lived in Melbourne, I was informed when I got to work by police that my father had died, just after 0900. I was on the 1100 flight to Sydney, and I have to say that I was a wreck. I was the only passenger in F (AN had F back then also J).

I was grateful that the crew restricted the front lavs to F and J pax only, as it meant that there were only about three people passing through the cabin whilst I was there looking in a somewhat disshevilled condition.

So in some cases it isn't snobbishness, in some cases, those in the front of the bird are actually paying for a little bit of privacy, and part of it is not allowing all and sundry to saunter through as and when they want to.

Where the PAX are trying to get to is a dunny, however to get to it, they need to pass through the business class cabin. This is the crux of the discussion.

Yes. 100% in agreement. Even though I do fly regularly... I am still terrified by it. I pay for the extra space, the higher ratio of F/As per pax, the pre-flight sparkling wine, AND the front row.
I have never considered myself snobby at all. I'm not even that 'precious'. Remember that I may have paid almost 10 times the amount some pax have paid for their seat on the same flight. (i.e MEL - BNE or MEL - PER 'J' compared with red e deal fares) I am no better or worse than any of my fellow pax. However....... If I pay for a certain level of service then I expect to receive it.

Any chance of Boeing/Scarebus relocating the said dunny to BETWEEN the two flying classes?? Happens on Int.flights all the time;)
