Hi Everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked already in the past, however, I just couldn't seem to figure out how to correctly select a seat in the Qantas website.

I am trying to purchase seats for my upcoming JFK to SYD flight via QF 12. The online seat selection allows me to select seat for the Boeing 747 leg (I suppose this is the JFK to LAX leg), however, I couldn’t seem to do the same for the remaining A380 leg. There isn’t any page that’s showing this up and clicking NEXT after the 747 seat selection points me directly to the payment page.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your help and hello to everyone reading this!

Regards,

eiorlan

You'll need to call up to get seats allocated for the LAX-SYD leg. Not possible to do it online

It is frustrating having an aircraft type change on the QF11 and 12. Also makes points upgrade requests difficult and for exit row seat purchases, QF will charge for the full SYD-NYC, but only guarantee it on the trains Pacific. Would have been much easier to make the NY flight number originate in Brisbane, where the aircraft does, keeping everything aligned.

Does anyone know why they went with the same flight number from Sydney? Other than that's what it had always been?

Nah. ... back in the days of 744 ops it was QF107/QF108.

Also for a short period, the LAX/JFK segments were operated by a 332 ... that's when these issues began.
