I've just redeemed QFF points for a QR redemption in J. It's confirmed but now I don't get any seat selection (even when using PNR on the QR Booking Manager portal).

Just wondering what else this fare won't come with? Am I right in guessing there will be no lounge access? TIA

Have you tried rj.com? There are reports that it can provide seat selection for award bookings. If they stick, the seats should appear on the QR app/website.

Also, that article is about the revenue fares but there were similar enhancements to award bookings…. OW status restores some benefits but has been reported as hit and miss in some countries/markets.

Try Manage My Booking on rj.com, finnair.com or malaysiaairlines.com. I've previously found these - or other Oneworld airlines' Manage My Booking pages - allow seat selection when the host airline sometimes doesn't.
I think the linked article only relates to purchased tickets rather than points redemptions.
(I assume your redemption was for a single seat departing Australia or more than 1 seat out of another country. More than one J award seat out of Australia has long been unobtainable on Qatar.)

To align with what others have posted, the "Traveller" article is does not relate to points/miles award fares booked into award fare buckets.

For example, Lounge access is available on redemption bookings.

Oh, so are Qantas reward redemptions on QR now booking into the cheapest business fare rather than an all inclusive product? I can understand for paid fares, but that's rather a devaluation for reward bookings where you'd expect the full experience...

I never had a problem selecting seats on a QF reward (flying QR) a few years back...

No. See previous comment from @serfty but there are reports of some benefits being incorrectly denied.

Thanks! I hope you're right.... In the QR app it makes no mention of lounge access (as in it's just blank for DOH). I wonder who I could query this with ahead of travel?

Don't worry, you shouldn't have any problems getting access to the Al Mourjan lounge. Enjoy!

You're correct - single seat SYD-DOH-BCN.... Lounge access in SYD would be nice. But not holding my breath - on only OW Ruby (QFF Silver)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you're travelling business class you'll get access to the Qantas Business lounge (if it's open) or the First class lounge. Status doesn't matter if you're flying business class. Just chill out and enjoy.
