Nobody seems to be scoring the caviar on the recent flight menus. Now that's a special bonus. Pairs well with pretty much everything.

Had it offered a few times but we both don’t eat seafood

With the above pic of the sausage and omelette, I asked what was probably one of the most stupid questions I have ever asked on an aircraft. As I don’t eat pig, I asked if the sausage was pork. As soon as the words fell out of my mouth, I realised it was a duh moment.
It’s Qatar Airways - of course it wasn’t damn pork.

Well you know, Qatar and Qantas have similar spelling ..... People can get confused.

The Balik salmon with it is a real bonus too and doesn't really get remarked upon

I thought Caviar is only offered in specific routes only? I only had it once out of 4 QR flights. QR816 DOH-HKG.

It was definitely on both our DOH-SIN flights and I’ll try to dig up some menus but certain it was on our DOH-MEL too

According to this, only 13 routes have Caviar on J. My guess is that it was departure from DOH only, as I did not have caviar on QR817 HKG-DOH flight?

Ex DOH only and also has to be a daytime departure I think.

I'm just happy with the fancy Godiva choccies offered as I always find the food at the DOH lounges incredible.

Did it have beetroot that made is an Aussie burger?

What was it like? I had the burger in F a few years ago. It was average. Had a burger on CX J last year which was excellent.

It was a special menu for Chinese New Year.

I had 4 dishes with the beef Breseola for breakfast.


Then 4 hours later began my main meal but spread out over 3 hours so I had an excuse to keep drinking the wines.
An amusee bouche first and then instead of the caviar I had the abalone and scallop.




For mains the Alaskan king crab.


For desserts I had the bowl of berries which had some very nice mulberries. no picture.
Then I got a fortune cookie which knew that I was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside.

Note they only load around 40% of the J cabin for caviar… so if you are keen to try it, order early!

I hadn’t had the Baeri caviar before, it certainly has a distinct taste!

It didn’t, but I’ve also had the other burger which was terrible and felt heavy.

Been lucky enough to do the F flight a few times on the A380 when it ran out of Perth.
Didn't think I'd like it but thought I better try the caviar and it was superb.
Everything there looks magnifent

Never knew about 40% loading for caviar. Lucky, I got it I when it was on the menu. Sitting at the front helps, I guess!
