I think best fare ever I got was in 1991 paying $99 SYD-PER on 'Australian Airlines' if i recall correctly.

Maybe a mini PER do - I could be tempted..

The other thing I should have mentioned is that with these sale fares, if one wishes to go from PER-HOB you are much better off going PER-MEL and a separate booking MEL-HOB

Fuel surcharge reductions? - Hah!

I looked at an award flight ADL>SYD>BKK last night and the +++ were $220 and a few cents. I held off booking it last night knowing about the reductions today.
This morning when I booked, the +++ were $217 and a few cents. Hardly anything to get too excited about.

Sounds like the $3 domestic reduction had gone through but not the $15 Aust/Asia decrease. Should be about $202 based on the figures.

Prices are quite low now on non-sale fares after fuel surcharge reduction. In some instances, even cheaper than Virgin.

Interestingly Virgins fares are still bookable for the sale despite it finishing last night.

thats the stock standard approach from DJ,their sale fares are pretty much always avail for at least part of the day after sale has finished.
