Re: Sale Extended: until midnight Monday 28 July 2008 (AEST) unless sold out before.

Was to finish today ...

i don't get the "midnight monday" bit. Is that 1 minute after 11.59pm on Sunday night? Isn't technically 00:00 Monday?

Nah I believe it's 11:59 Monday night that it finishes roughly. They could phrase it better.

In my experience, it is really only up to about 23:45 it works. Actual responsiveness from the qf booking engine in the last 15 minutes tends to be a bit hit and miss.

I've noticed this myself, but put it down to server overload as many try to get their bookings done at the last minute ...

I would have thought it could cope better than that. I have managed to make a few bookings very close to the deadline and I have not missed out yet. But my sample size is small compared to some people here....

I'm waiting for the "restore customer confidence in Qantas sale". Should only be a few weeks away based on the hammering they've received in the last few days :)

Re: Grab a Great Getaway

Not that great, really. Just booked DJ PER-MEL in Feb 09 for $149.

PER has come down from the $219 it has been in recent sales. During sales DJ to PER generally is this much cheaper. During non-sales they are much closer together (DJ discounts more!)

You just have to laugh. After rushing to book some flights on the $95 extended dates special QF release $89 flights a few days later. :(

That's good to see, Flashware!
QF should champion it's premium brand! :D

(...except vwhen travelling on a codeshare on JQ metal of course...) ;)

I believe if you travelling on a Qantas codeshare you do get that one 20Kg bag (& 7Kg carry-on).

Thanks, Serfty, and I guess that could be useful for some!

(Personally, I always travel light - I managed my last trip with one carry on bag for a 5 week excursion - and that one bag had the laptop as well - fortunately no formal work clothing required!).
