They are really stretching the peak drinking age with this one... Anyway, I'm pretty sure I will finish all my 6 bottles before 2055 :)

As a newbie to Epicure can you please advise me....I bought the case of St Henri's, the cost points have posted...how long do you generally have to wait for the bonus points??

PS Thanks for the tip about FREEJOIN too:)

Went to the Penfolds Icon dinner last night in Perth. Figured I'd pull the trigger on half a dozen St Henri this morning. What do you know, Epiqure is all out. Something about he who hesitates?

Ahh well, I'll just buy direct from Penfolds at $70/bottle and free delivery instead. Was prepared to pay a little extra for the bonus points, but not to be this time.

I'm not a big wine drinker so this is likely a silly question but I see that there re 2 earlier vintages of the St Henri (2007 & 2009) that have the 2000 bonus points and are not sold out on the Epiqure site - is there something special about the 2010 vintage?

The vintage of a wine has a huge influence on the final product. The 2010 was an exceptional vintage.

Sorry daver6, I helped EpiQure clear their stock and the wooden crate has just been delivered:

Hmmm, when should I drink the first one (and with whom)? Any takers :D

I'll be right over ;)

Just placed my order with Penfolds this morning. Figured with the money I saved I better get a couple of bottles of the Reserver Bin A Chardonnay too.

I don't think Im likely to touch any of my St Henri till at least 2020 based on my experience on Wed night.

I opened a bottle of St. Henri 2010 last week. Quite delicious and complex without being a big bold in your face style typical of SA reds. A very young (as expected) wine with lots of tannins. Should be a good one to keep for a while.

Where are you seeing $70/bottle from Penfolds? RRP was $95 last time I checked...

Hmmm, discussed with my Dad over the weekend - now he wants St Henri 2010. Nowhere to be found (I note that FirstChoice were selling it at $83 bottle, yet BSW was $73 [both out of stock]). Thought I'd be a good son and let him have 3 bottles of mine and we'd get a Bin 389 and share it as well. Thought to try and join him to EpiQure and FREEJOIN not working :(

Anyone with other join codes? If not, then I'll just have to put it to my account (I'll sweep the points across anyway)

Edit: (10.30am) GIFT59AW still working for $59 :D. Gift of Tattinger Champagne will do nicely for Dad's upcoming birthday celebration and pay for the joining fee
