Qantas Wine latest offering

+1 for Epiqure actually bothering to notify members of a substitution. In my past experience, they've generally just chucked something else in, and hoped for the best (i.e. for me not to notice). Having said that, I've always found their call centre staff willing to send out the original bottle / reimburse for the substitution if requested.

FWIW, my order for the "Old World Wines Mixed Pack Dozen" arrived today with this on the inside:

Shouldn't that be "Due to unavailability" or "Due to lack of availability":p:rolleyes:

Whoever wrote that needs a better grasp of sentence construction and grammar....

I ordered the Italian mixed 6. Similar thing done to me. Swapped a 2010 for a 2011 Chianti Classico (same wine). Very unhappy about this as the 2010 was a MUCH better vintage.

So do we contact Epiqure and complain?

As I contemplate this, time to pour myself a drink. As these arrived late last week, I thought I'd try the first.

In my case I certainly intend to suggest they deliver what I ordered. If they can't, I will expect some form of compensation. Failing that, I'll insist that I'd like a refund and they can come collect the wine delivered.

They really should contact PRIOR to sending it out to see if that's ok.

Just got off the phone to epiQure. The lady I spoke to was surprised to hear a phone call wasn't made prior to sending this out. She also wasn't aware of the general switcharoo going on. She is going to look into the options and see when the 2010 will be back in stock (I suspect it won't be). She will call me back and let me know what the possibilities are. Will report back when I know more.

... or perhaps not sell it at all, if they can't provide the advertised product. Surely it's not that hard to align the quantity for sale with the available inventory!

Sometimes stuff happens - bottles break, stuff gets "shoplifted" etc. What might have been available for sale when purchasing turns out not to be available when fulfilling.

I like this call centre. They call back when they say they will.

In short, no 2010s. Offered to refund the cost of what they sell the 2011 for and I can keep it. Happy with that outcome.

Another 7500 bonus points delivered by QF yesterday, and they threw in another mixed dozen gratis! Thanks :)

Theres some 10k points offers in todays email, including Hentley Farm. Slight premium over cellar door but an earlier vintage (2012 v 2013).

I have already placed my order for the Hentley Farm...11170 points ;):)

Is it a good deal to spend $300+ On the case of 6 to get 10000 qff points?

Not if you don't appreciate the wine i I wouldn't be buying either of them 10K bonus point offers if you are just a quaffer.

My thoughts - I've got no room either under my desk, or in my wine fridges (have enough in my wine rack at home for probably 2 dozen), so I'd better go out and deliver some to clients.

Getting one case of the winter warmers ($294) and a case of the Motolo ($348 rounded up). Gives me 17,500 bonus and 1,632 standard points.

In fact, my dozen of the mixed winter warmers ordered last week just arrived as I type this (my staff think its hilarious).

I'd better start using my points, build a war chest of 150K points (mostly from Epiqure bonus points) - good idea, I'd better start flying again ;)

Haha I don't drink much at all. So probably not a good deal for me. Maybe those CC sign up bonuses are better for me lol

Just a heads up for everyone. The partial refund came through really quickly. However, I happened to notice all the points for the transaction were reversed. I called up and they confirmed this was not intentional and that their is a glitch that even a partial refund triggers a points reversal. They will have this sorted by the end of the day for me. Just a heads up to anyone who does get a partial refund, check your points balance.

Interesting to see this for the Riedel tasting: Substantial canapés immediately following the tasting.
Mustve learnt from the Sips and Sliders that hungry punters are not happy punters.

I note that attendees will also leave with 5 Riedel glasses. I received some Riedel Bordeaux glasses as a sweetener to buy a case recently. I have to say I think the wine does taste better.
