Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this, but im on a flex Y QF ticket MEL-SIN-LHR (24-Jun) on QF35 and QF1. On requesting a J classic upgrade only QF35 has an option to select on departure upgrade as well. Is there a reason I wasn’t given the option for QF1? Is it because I’m only joining sector 2? or does selecting on departure consideration for QF35 also auto selects it for QF1?

And likewise on the return QF2 (13-Jul) doesn’t have an option for on departure consideration, only the second sector QF36 does?!
To partially close this loop - unsuccessful Y flex to J on QF35 at T-9 hrs as WP but got digital boarding pass notification of seat change to 8E at T-1 hr in QF f lounge

Still waiting for QF1 but not looking good with 1 J left…

Unsuccessful with QF1 some time while I was up in the air lol very disoriented to time

Was never given the option to be considered for a gate upgrade in original request (or for my return QF2 or on QF1/2 on another booking). SIN staff couldnt give me a reasonable explanation. My take is that gate upgrades on QF1/2 are only allowed for those booked on both sectors…which is making me think I should transit via SYD onto QF1 in the future…
