There'll be 2 months of build up about an exciting new, product-changing announcement.

And then they'll announce a new NP menu.

All domestic lounges replaced with large Woolworths/BWS/Big W retail space, so you can be more rewarded for the journeys you take everyday - Any time access to anyone holding a direct earn credit card.

I'm picturing something like this, maybe...

Qantas is delighted to announce that commencing the 1st December 2013, members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will be able to earn 'status credits' on all eligible* trips made to, and from their local Woolworths supermarket. WWSCs are earned in the same membership year as your traditional QFF membership year, and as you progress through the various tiers of this exciting partner-program, together we will bring you amazing benefits such as Priority Checkout (at selected stores), Advanced deli counter number allocations, and access the soon to be launched 'Woolies Club Lounge'.

* Trips must be made in vehicles filled exclusively with fuel paid for with a QFF co-branded credit card. Travel completed in the rear of the vehicle will receive only 25% of the WWSCs of a trip made in the front seat.

If common sense prevails, a one-way ticket to anywhere for failed politician Tony Abbott.
Since this is an inherently political thread and comment which hasn't been moderated, I'll take the opportunity to make an on-topic comment...

I think you're forgetting Kevin Rudd was removed as Prime Minister. This has never happened to Tony Abbott in his leadership position. It was Kevin Rudd who changed the border laws that resulted in 1000 deaths, who rushed a pink batts program that resulted in deaths, wasted $8 billion on school halls, the list goes on.

And it's Tony Abbott who will wind back progress on civil rights issues..

I'm no fan of Kevin and I am not a fan of Tony but realistically if the Liberals lose I see them putting Turnbull back in the top job and that is a fantastic thing.

Ok Mr Pro-Liberal, that was totally on topic...

If Abbott is still in the driver's seat, it means he's got the numbers, otherwise Turnbull should've made his move ages ago (if he does want to make the move that is). But hopefully, if Labor wins again, either the Libs do a Labor and put Turnbull up to try and win or there's enough of a swing to Libs for Turnbull to gain the new votes.

And since we are discussing a future event, I am looking at a time when Tony Abbott has yet again missed out on his life's ambition - by his own charming words, he would do anything short of selling his cough to become PM. The chances that he will fail become greater and greater every day.

I'm forgetting nothing, so no need to put words in my mouth, particularly when they are nothing more than the regurgitated propaganda of Ms Peta Credlin, the real leader of the LNP.

Relying on Tony Windsor for comment.

Yeah. Serious.

Um, this is actually getting a bit off topic. This thread is about what announcement Qantas may make post election; this thread is for political comment.

I think a bit of mod action could be useful here. If there is a link between election and announcement then it is on-topic. If it's just cheering on your political team captain, then it could go elsewhere.

No but you can report a post if you feel action is needed rather than drag the topic OT with another OT comment. FWIW there has not been a report on this thread and most members would not we tend to be lenient to a certain extent!

It was quite obviously cheer-leading, but as long as it doesn't take over the thread I doubt that too many would care too much.
