I didn't have an issue booking it online. Do you really need an agent?

Alternatively, you can always do it when you get there if you're confident the flights will still be available.

I have no experience trying to do it from Australia via an agent.

Dare I ask how one goes about booking a done4 or Acirc ex Auckland when you live in Australia? Kiwi based agent? Qantas NZ or would they force mw to deal with Qantas Australia? Can an Australian agent do it or would Qantas have a fit and refuse?

thanks
To save on fuel fines; I called AA in the USA has them set up the booking and then called AA in NZ to ticket.

There's threads on this - I don't have time to search myself at the moment.

I have been advised by our TA that they cannot access Qantas websites from other than AU to make a booking for a client - so would have to follow the other advice and do it yourself!

Refer to this thread (post #6) for the summary on one of these I booked and flew last year, or...

Refer to this thread for the full story.

Long story short, ring AA in the US to book (big reduction in surcharges in my case), and AA NZ to ticket. Be prepared for some obstacles, but it should all work out OK in the end. But a big YMMV, and have a Plan B! :)
