Sunday QF 665 Brisbane to Adelaide. Loaded early. Left right on time 6.10pm good start.
Then downhill.
No headphones offered at gate nor at anytime on board. TV screens worked but no effort to allow us to hear. (Dont have tablet etc.)
2 and half hour trip. Never offered a tea or coffee. No explanation if there was an issue eg equipment failure. Just Nothing.
Meal was single serve offering with water or soft drink. No bread roll or sweet bar or cheese. Very sparse.
Wine or beer $6. Not even one drink with food without paying. Surely a drink could be included with meal. Other drinks then charge for.
Was disappointed given length of flight and time of day.

Free alcohol only on weekdays and no hot drinks offered for dinner on QF. The food is hit and miss but overall, compared to other domestic carriers, standards in Y are acceptable. Regarding headphones, usually offered just after departure but more often than not they are faulty so better BYO next time.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The onboard service can be hit and miss but I usually find it OK.

Disappointing about IFE as I like to play games when I do get one of the aircraft with seatback IFE but so far so good,

How does the QF meal service on this flight compare to what you would have received on VA?

It seem strange you weren’t offered soft drinks though. That would be normal. They must have been forgotten. No tea and coffee for meal service and just the usual box stuff. The only meal I eat on Qantas is lamb biryani. That’s all. I avoid their carb laden snacks and abysmal pasta. IFE was disappointing. I suspect there was a flurry about no soft drinks and that out the crew in a bit of stress.

Learning the hard way i guess - reckon on a 2 and half hour flight it isn't too much to expect a coffee - food we got was ok - just was poor experience overall compared to what we've had with Qantas previously.

Don't know Mattg. Haven't been on VA on Sunday night for a longer time trip. Usually VA flights have been just an hour or so.

Water and soft drinks were with meal.

I thought the Neil Perry inspired menu was the answer to all our palates.

Thanks for responses and the info - appreciated.

Qantas keeps advertising itself as a premium airline, with premium services (and charges handsomely for it), so I don't blame passengers when they find their experience 'meh'.

Oh. Ok then. It all sounds normal except IFE. I avoid their meals and have done for months. Even J international on Syd - Dps the meal was awful even though it’s supposed to be dinner.

Agree recently travelled J Sydney-DPS and it was very very ordinary could not get what I wanted on the list up and back. Excuse we have run out. Then what I did get was not cooked properly and full of hot spices but due to all the fancy culinary Neil Perry inspired food vocabulary on the menu how can anyone really understand what is in the food or what it even is.

I was thinking we should send him a sample. He would be horrified.

Hot drinks aren't loaded on the trolley for full meal flights but if you ask it's a very rare crew that won't get you one once the meal service is over.

Some of the meals are ok.
