Qantas have just posted the video on youtube for anyone that is interested.
...<video here>...
Looks pretty good. Clarity has improved substantially.
The life jacket section is still as clear as before, i.e. not very. Why the need to say, "The cabin crew are now demonstrating how to put on your life jacket," when pax
should be paying attention to the screen or a crew member anyway, or rather that the next line is, "Slip the jacket over your head..." etc..
Then they go on to say, "(Your jacket) has one red tag and one mouthpiece for inflation." They went to all this long winded detail beforehand and now they simply tell you there are two implements that you can use to inflate the life jacket - the most critical aspect of the life jacket - and that's it? What's so hard in saying, "To inflate the life jacket, pull down on the red tag firmly. You can also blow into the mouthpiece."
And wouldn't it be wise to have a demo sequence (on the video) afterwards of someone actually moving towards a door and just before exiting the life jacket actually gets inflated? Telling someone that you should not inflate the life jacket until you are at a door and the matching graphic is just a person sitting still in an uninflated life jacket is not entirely congruous nor convincing.
I thought it was slightly comical how all the participants in the wide shots were doing some actions all at the same time. Whilst that demonstrates a 'team' (or unity) trait, it also makes them look like a bunch of robots operated with one remote control.
