Until September there will be a new safety demo staring athletes from the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

It's not on youtube but I happened to see it today onboard and thought it was quite good!

It should be on all aircraft by the 16th

Agree. I saw it last night on the delayed 7pm MEL - SYD flight. I noticed a lot more people than usual watching, and the condescending seat belt line was not to be heard!:)

Yep I saw in Monday morning. Very good idea. Well executed.

Thank god someone mentioned it because I only just remember to mention it earlier today and then promptly forgot again.

Sent from the Throne

Saw it tonight CBR-ADL - same deal, huge amount of pax paying attention. Great video! Pity the old bird (talking a/c 734 not the FA) had all sorts of trouble with her audio not to mention at least one screen out!

Excellent video, pax were deffinetly looking up at the screens which is a good, well done QF.

I seen this on Saturdays flight QF1062, I went to start a thread regarding the new safety briefing however my iPad never likes to start a new thread on this forum and crashes... Then I totally forgot to have a go on my PC.

I enjoyed it and like seeing Australians getting behind our greatest!

:)

I thought there may have been a new one coming as I had no safety video going up and back to Sydney on Monday. Look forward to seeing it next week..

I had a good view today from 23D :)

I too saw more people noticing the video - I did think I heard the seat belt line though...

"We know you're more than capable of listening to this video...."

Clearly not in my case:)

The new video has also axed the word "team" and has gone back to "crew" or "cabin crew". I wonder if we will get a revised video once the Olympics have finished.

HOOOOOOOKAHHHH!!

In other news, Leisel Jones is just awful with a script.

No... that patronising phrase is definitely gone.. I had it SYD-CNS on QF932 last Friday night and again CNS-BNE QF 799 on Monday. On Friday, I overheard the CSM warning the FA that there was a new video... the FA ended up watching it as much as I did! It's a nice change. I don't mind it at all. (Oh how we analyse every slight move! I almost posted while taxiing thinking that I might be first to post the change, but figured my device was meant to be off!)

Yeah, I quite liked it as well - borrowed quite heavily from some of the Air NZ campaigns IMO.

Not a bad thing ;)
