I'm sure everyone already knows, but JIC,
The Qantas Shopping Points prompter app, (for PCs and Mac) - not sure if there's a mobile phone version, is really good. It's just an extension add-on that you can put on your chrome browser. (Or other browser.)
I'm on ebay a lot (I sell stuff) but because I use it a lot I often forget that I can earn Qantas points by going through the Qantas shopping portal to ebay.
This Points prompter reminds me. A square shows up in the right hand corner, telling me I can get points.
If I'm browsing online, an extra line of text appears above googled entries that will yield Qantas points.
For example, today I needed to buy a replacement slow cooker (how exciting.)
While googling the prices, the David Jones website immediately showed 6 pts per dollar spent, v the zero I would get if I'd gone to Bing Lee or Harvey N. Same price.
So in I went,to Qantas shopping, to David Jones, bought my slow cooker, which was on special by $10, used a $10 gift card as well, earned bonus QFF points - 6 per $1, and paid with my Bankwest Qantas card. About 500 points for my $69 slow cooker, which is delivered free.
Here's the link to the Qantas Shopping Points prompter app. You may have to choose your browser etc.

No, I didn't know! Just what I needed, because I always forget to use the QF shopping portal, but now I have to remember to use Chrome and not Safari to shop.
Thanks!

You're welcome, and I don't know if you can get it for ios, but ....if anyone finds out, let me know.
I know there was a couple of browsers to choose, from maybe safari was one of them.

Pretty sure you can get a mac version of chrome though.

I want to install this but work considers links form qantas an add and blocks them, keep forgetting to put it on the tablet, as easier to shop from laptop.

Hi all,

Just a word of warning from my recent experience. While using this addon, the tracker failed and I missed out on +25k worth of points. Qantas FF refuses to credit me with the correct points despite admitting an error on their part. I am not 100% sure if the addon was the cause but when I previously (and since) used the tracker link directly from their website, I have always received the correct amount.

So caveat emptor.

Ouch, that's awful.

But there are some very important tips you always need to be aware of when using
a) the tracker and b) the Qantas shopping mall.

First - with the tracker. I never go onto a site, say ebay, (where I automatically see the tracker there) which reminds me thatI can find it through the mall. I then quit that screen, and actually GO to the mall, and to ebay that way. Even though I probably will get my points, I'd prefer the Qantas site to direct me to ebay. Ok, it looks exactly the same. I'm sure I'm overly cautious.

Same with the 'searches'. when I'm searching a product, and I'm given search results with qantas points, rather than click on them I go to the Qantas mall and search that business, and click through it instead, again, being sure they are getting it tracked.

Second - and very importantly. You have to be signed in!! Sign into Qantas FF first, and then ALSO into your account if you have one with ebay, or woolworths, or others. (Woolworths particularly, as you also get Woolworths rewards points which convert to QFF if you want.) If you're not signed in, to an account, QFF or the shop account, then of course they can't allocate you the points.

I'm sure this is overly simplistic, and I'm sure I'm be overly cautious. But I missed a few hundred woolworths points because I failed to sign in. I missed qantas points on ebay, because I failed to sign into qantas.
Make sure you are signed into all the accounts you are meant to be signed into AND go through the mall, don't let the tracker just say it's tracking.

I have installed the tracked but as I also have cashback rewards - they are usually for same places so I go for the cashback instead

actually GO to the mall

This is correct. You always will need to go through the Qantas website first as that sets a cookie on your computer so that Qantas will be able to tell if you ended up converting on the partner's website. I don't believe the browser extension add the cookies. It is purely a visual aid to let you know you could earn points on that site.

Noticed this one on Ozbargain

Limited time offer. Spend more. Earn more.

Earn double Qantas Points at eBay when you shop via Qantas Shopping before Sunday 1 Sept 2019. PLUS, spend over $150 to earn an additional 500 points or over $200 to earn 750 points (excludes GST and delivery). The more you shop, the more you earn. Hurry, offers end 1 Sept 2019. T&Cs apply.

So work relaxed rule since WFH began and i finally installed this about 8 weeks ago. After shopping using the prompt, I get confirmation emails saying " Great news Lynda2475, your order via Qantas Shopping has been tracked " but I'm yet to see a single point post to my Qantas FF account, so how long does it typically take?

Most fo the purchases have been small but i must have a couple of thousand owing by now.

I tried the shopping prompter when it first came out. Not one purchase tracked with it, even though it said tracking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

While I do not use these types of things as they can interfere with other interfaces I employ, I am thinking the below is very good advice:

It can take a few months to actually post - to allow for returns etc.

If you go to QANTAS shopping > Shopping history and it should list all your purchases and an estimated date they will post.

Thanks for the shopping history hint, everything seems to be there. Some say will post in Dec because of returns policy, others have no estimated points date. I guess will wait it out.

If you login to shopping.qantas.com and then navigate to 'Shopping History' there will be a list of purchases made through the online mall. Points credited into your account can take upto 4 months depending on the store. Qantas will give you a breif description of rouhgly how long some stores will take to credit points. There can be long wait periods depending on return policies stores have.

I used this for the first time to buy something from The Good Guys and was flabbergasted that they said it would take up to 90 days to post. What is so antiquated about the systems here? Are they delivering the information by bicycle courier from Perth to Sydney? Even that, a good bicyclist should be able to reach in a month! Does anyone know the real reasons here.

Sadly, there are people that made an art form of purchasing via the online mall, having the Qantas points credit and then returning the item for a full refund. Generally the Qantas points would remain.

And to add to that it's far easier to delay a points credit for sometimes upto 4 months than Qantas having to manually remove the points from someones account after they return the item to the estore.

estore purchases are verified via web browser cookies. A more direct points credit system could be developed that is better integrated into estore partners systems but it would come at a considerable cost for all parties. So the wait is justified.
