Qantas online Mall, cookies and points

I have just started using the Qantas Online Mall and made purchases from Zanui, Booktopia, Uniqlo and Marks & Spencer. I received the confirmation email regarding Qantas Points are on the way for purchases from all retailers except the Marks & Spencer purchase.

Fast forward a week, I've made a second purchase from Marks & Spencer via the Online Mall and once again no confirmation email received.

I was especially careful this time there must be something wrong with the Online Mall and some Retailers.

Spoke with Qantas and they want me to email them an invoice of purchase so they can investigate, has anyone here ever received the points for purchases through M&S?

You don't always get an email confirming you used Qantas mall for a retailer correctly.

So you are saying the email with subject "Your Qantas Points are on their way" is not received for some retailers but the points can still be posted 30 days later?

I was under the impression this email was the key to confirming the points would be posted in 30 days and without this email somehow the cookies didn't capture the transaction.

I was once denied for points because no confirmation email from QF.

Yes this is my concern, want to hear from anyone who has not received the confirmation email but still had points posted. Everything I've read to date indicates no confirmation email = no points posted 30 days later.

I did 2 transactions via the Qantas mall. The first (ebay) I received an email confirmation, and the 2nd transaction (forever new) there was zero confirmation. 30 days later, points from ebay received. Ziltch from forever new. I emailed Qantas, and someone rang me. It wasn't a 'confidence inducing' phone call though - mainly because you had to select the retailer with the missing points in a drop down box. The only problem - there was no option for Forever New. The girl who rang me didn't speak English as her 1st language, and because I had selected the wrong retailer (since I had to select something), she couldn't understand. It has been a while, and no points. I will have to look into it again. Would have been about 500 points.

That dropdown list probably contains less than half of the retailers; Marks & Spencer is also missing. Sigh.

My missing points claim also resulted in someone phoned me (from Australia to NZ) - basically told me no confirmation email from QF no points because they won't be able to find it on their purchase report. I have points approved previously (with email from QF) but not the second purchase so I do know how to follow the instructions/steps and cookies...etc.

What a shame there is no way I can prove that I followed the steps.

Yes, that's what the call centre has explained when I have tried to claim points retrospectively.

Correct.

As with any transaction of this type, save all billing details and if you think you're missing points then lodge feedback and they'll work with you. I've had issues before, once successfully getting 4000 points that went AWOL. They ended up saying they could see the start and end of the transaction, but lost me in the middle, but as a gesture of goodwill would give me the points. I looked at it differently (to a gesture of goodwill)!

I just rang the call centre, who told me to forward the tax invoice from Forever New to them, for processing of missing points. Woman at call centre was very friendly and helpful. If I get the points, it will be a good result.

I purchased two ipads via DJs online store via Qantas portal. first time using it looking forward to my 10ppd

You might be able to. Take screen dumps at each step as it shows the site navigation and time you visited.

Yeah that could be one way to "prove". just make sure you also have the "cookie setting" right next to your browser when doing screen shots.

Back in May 2015 when my M&S purchase did not credit. Sent the invoice/order confirmation to QF a month after purchase and here is a reply from QF. it is fairly vague:

Dear zqsn5678,

Thank you for contacting The Qantas Club and Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

I'm sorry to tell you that your recent purchase made via the Qantas Mall is not eligible to earn Qantas Points.
The essential requirements for a Qantas Mall purchase are:

- you must log in to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account before making the purchase
- your web browser cookies must be enabled
- you must not open other browser windows or go to other sites before completing the transaction
- the transaction must be completed in one web browsing session (ie; - don't close your browser and resume at a later time)

If any of the above conditions aren't met, a mall purchase is ineligible for Qantas Points.

When you meet the essential requirements you'll receive an email from Qantas confirming a successful purchase. The points will then appear in your account around 30 days after you make a successful purchase.

I'm sorry to tell you that there are no retrospective points claims for purchases not meeting the above requirements.

I really want to hear from someone who has received the confirmation email from an M&S order.

Ordered $5K in goods from Appliances Online via Q Mall yesterday for 23,500 points, received confirmation letter today.

Has anyone recently got notification when purchasing from David Jones ?
I bought two ipads ( separate transactions a few days apart) last week and have not received any email or notification

I've had points post from David Jones no problem and have had email notifications. Reading the terms of DJ's, I'm not sure if you will get points on Apple products. I have been using the Apple store for Apple purchases at lower points per $, but I least I get them.
