Qantas online Mall, cookies and points

Further to my comments on previous page about not receiving the confirmation of points being on their way for purchasers from M&S; now it looks like they have been removed from the Online Mall.

Perhaps they were on the way out for some time?

My problems have been with Appliances Online and Lenovo. eBay works every time, but for whatever reason the link or tracking isn't as good for other merchants. FF have been good and accepted the invoice/order confirmation with a date/time that matches when you logged in to the site.

Anyone purchased from David Jones Click & Collect via QF Mall, upon collection asking to price match with another retailer? If so have you received points for QF Mall purchase or after some time the points gets deducted from your QF FF account? I have access to DJs staff discount and would purchase via QF Mall & collect from store, get a refund then purchase again with staff discount. Dang it no QF points has been credited due to refunding the item & repurchasing with staff discount.

It's stated quite clearly in the confirmation email you get once you use the online mall:

"So long as you don’t cancel, make an exchange or return your order, your points will appear in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 30 days. "

Wouldn't this put a black mark against your name on the employee list for buying, refunding and then buying the same item?

No, as I don't work for DJs direct but for a concession store. I don't have to go pick up the item and I know the customer service people very well & look after them. :)

If you have a need for M&S, you can order via Gate365, the BA portal (assuming you can create a BA account). They ahd a very good bonus points offer recently

Qantas Frequent Flyer centre (Alicia from Melbourne) just rang me to say that they weren't accepting my online purchase to Forever New on 10/9/15. From the huffing and puffing, she most definitely wanted to get me off the phone, and just accept her news. I pushed to speak to a supervisor (she tried her hardest to get me to accept a callback in 24-48 hrs). She made a big point of telling me that nothing would come of speaking to a supervisor. She emphasised that I would get no points.

I did 2 transactions at the same time - ebay and forever new. Only ebay credited points. I know that I did it correctly.

Anyway, I spoke to the supervisor Simon - he had a great attitude, and gave me the points as a goodwill gesture (less than what I should have got, since he didn't want to give me points on GST). He said that if you don't get the confirmation email in 99.9% of cases, you did something wrong - you will get zero points (he could think of a few ways that it could happen, but it is rare). He said that the online mall was very touchy - it is easy to do something wrong.

Anyway, I think where I have a choice - the Velocity online mall is superior (you can check your own record). I have also started using the Krisflyer Spree site (no problems).

Is there anywhere to see how many points are waiting to be credited. Something like with velocity s&e?

I received an email confirming my 3 recent purchases so assuming I'll get the point in a month or so.

I have made many purchases through the mall now mainly from ebay with no issues. Over a week ago however I made a purchase on ASOS and have not received an email yet. Has anyone else had issues with ASOS

How does the online mall work with iTunes? It seems that you log via the mall website which then opens your iTunes account. Is this correct?

I've been really happy with my online mall and David Jones experiences. I've used both home delivery as well as click and collect. Biggest issue is remembering to shop before 4pm so that I can pick it up the next day. If 10pts/$ continued, the people at the service desk would know me by name.

Some more data points. I have had successful purchases from eBay and Booktopia, with the QF email being received within minutes of the purchase confirmation. Same cannot be said for two purchases made through the Microsoft Store. Neither of them triggered the QF Email, despite one being in the same session as the Booktopia purchase. I have submitted the claim, but don't hold high hopes as there essentially is no proof that the purchase was made through the QF Online Mall without the QF confirmation email.

I've ordered a few things from DJ's and had them delivered within a few days, 10pp$ works for me.

DJs and Ebay has worked well for me.

The confirmation email usually arrives a day or two after the purchases.

I usually do a "dry run" of the purchase first so that I don't end up clicking something that could break the tracking script.

Just noticed that the QF site now has a big yellow banner indicating that cookies are not being stored. I wonder if this is a response to the issues using the online mall ?

Made a purchase from Bond's with the double points promo currently going. Did the usual: cookies enabled, stayed on the Bond's site I was redirected to etc etc. No confirmation email from QF. Called them and they said to wait 30 days then call them back with my invoice if the points haven't credited...wonder if they will actually credit the points or just tell me too bad if the points don't credit.

For those having difficulty obtaining points - make sure you aren't running an ad blocker or any other tool that limits tracking ability while doing your shopping.
