I don't understand why anyone would steal the Qantas NC headphones. They're not particularly good quality, and how many people have a device or stereo at home that uses those three-pronged plugs??
has anyone else experienced this of late?

i would think most members of Australian Frequent Flyer have their own quality noise canceling set they take with them on all long haul travels in economy class. If you don't then you should.
I actually considered getting some but so far have not needed to as I have always gotten them... if the OP is correct I might have to go and buy some soon.

Yes, QF5 SYD-SIN in April in Y. No CSS/CSM greeting. No J headsets. Only special attention was from FAs after takeoff to check I was dry, as I'd had to hold a spare blanket up to the ceiling above me to stop the air con condensation from saturating me. After ensuring I was dry, that was it.
3 flights since; recognised the CSM on boarding, and the fam was moved from Y into Y+ before takeoff. Subsequent 2 Y flights were upgraded on points to J.
