Clifford that was a rather unnecessary and aggressive comment and your comparison to Air NZ is pointless really.

For those interested I have the full schedule for the first 2 weeks of the A332 aircraft…putting that together and will post soon. Keep in mind it is subject to change. Seat maps in the online systems at this time will still show current seat map but capped to 28 pax for these flights.

I think you mean 6A or 6K.

Unsure if they had no choice in how the fitting was done, but had they made 6A and 6K with the shelf next to the aisle (rather than the current seat next to aisle), you would have had a couple of very cosy cubbies there.

The flights where they fly the A332, especially international needs the full 28 business class seats. Now the A333, you may have a point in making the first few rows Y+. Could probably fit in 2 or 3 rows, at the expense of 4 or 5 rows of normal Y.

Something like A332 ex-JQ config, A332 Skybed config, A332 new config . . .

At the present time that flight is scheduled to be operated by a different aircraft with Domestic Business seats (36J265Y). You'd need to route through SYD arriving into PER three hours later to score the new one.

Of course, that can change ...

A332 Skybed is easy, as it is 3 rows forward of door 2 and 3 behind.

A322 new should also be easy as it has 5 rows forward of door 2 and 2 behind (only 1 row next to the windows)

As for domestic A332, don't think there is an easy way. Whilst the later ones have 7 seats across only 6 are used which is the same as the rest. Only difference I can see is number of seats in Y.

Actually, there would be five - JQi exLoan (Millennium), Domestic (Recaro), Domestic Silverwing, International Skybed Mk 1 & (soon) VantageXL.

Look at the middle block of seats

EBM/N have the middle block of EF, whilst the Recaro is DF.

It would drop by 6 to 22 seats.

They could add at least 12 y+ seats in that space (if not more).

Presumably QF studies this and decided they can generate more revenue from the J seats.

and defeats the original purpose of simplifying the A330 fleet, so the a332 and a333 can be utilized between dom/int flying...the common 28J/C cabin allows for greater consistency...so if an a332 gets subbed for an a333 or vv...then the J/C cabin remains at 28seats to keep you in your J/C seat!!!

If you were to completely simplify the fleet, wouldn't you want the same Y product as well? A number of the 332's from what I am reading will only get the iPad treatment.

You could always put Y+ on the 333s too.

Yes, but the point is you were suggesting a reduction in the number of J seats to 22 in the A332. The OP was saying the number of J seats should be the same in both the A332 and A333.

You could certainly install Y+ on all the A330 fleet, but this would really need to be at the expense of Y seats, rather than J. And clearly the QF yield people have found this would not be positive financially - no doubt for much the same reason that CX is cutting back on its numbers of Y+ seats on intra-Asian flights.
