ONE toilet for J class?!
That's the first thing I noticed.

I was thinking more people here would pick this up and kick up a fuss.

Interesting about the different seat widths in business class. Any idea where the wider ones are at?

It would seem the centre seats are 24", the side aisle seats are 25" and the side window seats are 23", from what I can detect.

Those maps confirm the single dunny for J on the -200. Not good at all. I mean to say the -300 has the same number of J pax and gets two. Though where to put it I guess is the question as no easy place without reducing J.

I threw a quick table together to summarise the seat count/WC count changes after the update. To me the biggest thing it shows is just how efficiently the new seats actually use the space. If we take the -300 international version which is the best like for like comparison, between Doors 1 & 2 they can fit 28 new J suites where 30 sloped Skybeds and were, just 2 less J seats to go fully flat! This same space also has 1 WC in both configs (although it's been moved from the front to back of the cabin).

It would have been interesting if they had have kept an 'International' version of the -200 how many new J would have gone into the space of the current 2 J zones. The change to this config sees a loss of 8 J seats but a gain of 44 Y - I suspect they may well have been able to install 36 new Flat J Suites and still have been able to add a few extra economy seats if they had wanted, which again shows how efficient the new seat design is!

Obviously the seat counts take a hit on the domestic versions but the current J seats in those are really just International premium economy standard!

I can't wait to try out the new J suites - I'm only disappointed there aren't more window seats 'against the window' as opposed to 'against the aisle'. Those true window suites should be super private and will be my first pick!

It would drop by 6 to 22 seats.

They could add at least 12 y+ seats in that space (if not more).

Presumably QF studies this and decided they can generate more revenue from the J seats.
It is already hard enough to get business class awards on the A333's now unless you book at T-353 days. With premium economy that would make it worse.

Actually looking at post above regarding number of business class seats it is going to be worse anyway.

For those interested I have the full schedule for the first 2 weeks of the A332 aircraft…putting that together and will post soon. Keep in mind it is subject to change. Seat maps in the online systems at this time will still show current seat map but capped to 28 pax for these flights.

Would you have the schedule for Sunday 28th Dec. Mel-Per ? Would be appreciated.
Jon.

OK article is now updated and includes the list of flights operated by VH-EBV for its first week - please note subject to change at any time so don't shoot the messenger :)

Also - those seatmaps aren't showing on Expert Flyer yet.

Anyone got a booking on any of these flights - is the new seat map showing in MMB?

I'm on QF583 a few days earlier than the scheduled start date and my seat map shows this, not like anything i have seen before. Can anyone explain?

Pretty much standard 2-2-2 seating for all intents and purposes. Not sure if it's one of those JQ converted ones that are 2-3-2 with the middle block in all but the first row, where 2D has extra room.

That's my guess.
