Qantas Lounge in BKK

RJ use the TG lounge, randomly enough. I'm on them a few days later and will probably make use of QF again.

MH use the TG lounge(s) as well.

I used to visit the Royal Silk or Royal Orchid lounges in concourse F.

If QF can do a joint QF/BA/CX/AA lounge in LAX, why not a joint QF/BA/CX lounge in BKK that could also serve MH, RJ and AY?

You may be lucky if QFi continue flying to BKK. EK and Deathstar may be the only options soon. QFi to SIN first then SIN-BKK on Jetstar Asia also already crops up in the QF booking engine.

Threadjack/side note...
Yair, and as we know, no more direct QFi flights from PER or ADL to SIN!
BNE palms off passengers to SYD to connect with the flight, or EK direct to SIN.
I know we on here have had the conversation many times, but over time, QFi have started to drop off so many services, at one time SYD to KUL was done by QFi, (that one I did use).
How many QFi flights from SYD to SIN a day now, (not EK metal), 2 per day from SYD and MEL to SIN only, isn't it? 4 times a day, there and back, over a 24 hour period.
QFi might as well close down all international flights, and let EK and its other partners fly the routes.
If they are not keen on flying from so many Australian capital cities. Exc CBR and DRW, which has no QFi flights.

BNE still has SIN and HKG on QF metal, PER lost both of those...

I gave this a shot to see what it would be like but it is total rubbish.

- QF check-in (online, phone or at terminal) can't issue BP or seat selection for JQ segment, you need to give baggage receipt and line up for ages at the transfer desk in SIN.
- No QFF SCs or points when travelling on the JQ segment with QF flight number - (well depending on booking class, but I got a shock).
- You do get a $10 food/drink voucher but they don't tell you about it unless you ask specifically and show boarding pass.

I will transfer domestically if I were to do this again.

Thai AirAsiaX commenced operations in April, commencing to South Korea and Japan.
I suspect Australia will come soon thereafter and that is not good news for fare levels nor Qantas's continuing on the Bangkok route

I can confirm that it's currently open until 2:30am.

Had a lovely experience sitting next to two Victorian gentlemen loudly disgusting their Bangkok escapades including the moisture content of certain areas. I'll leave it at that.

One of the more unpleasant aspects of Bangkok. I'll never forget walking out of the Sheraton one night to taxi back to my hotel (I dined at Sheraton for SPG points) and seeing an Australian guy in his 30s blatantly walk in with 3 young Thai girls on his arm.

There's a daily QF flight from BNE to SIN and return. And the EK flight with a codeshare.

To each their own.

By the way don't blame the young Australian guy. Instead have a think of what has gone wrong in Western society that causes these people to look elsewhere.

Neglect? Rejection?

If the food in your own kitchen is tasty there is no need to eat in another's kitchen. Or something along those lines.

The West is experiencing a cultural malaise and it has severely damaged relations between the sexes. I agree. Doesn't mean I approve of prostitution though.

Prostitution exists everywhere in the world.

Not all women in Thailand are prostitutes. I am thankful someone has given me a chance even if the main motivator is money.

Same thing happened as SIN.

BA took the First Lounge space
QF took the Business Lounge space (and is currently sharing it with EK as their lounge is being renovated)

No changes to either the BA or QF lounges sans signage.

Not quite the same. In the first instance the lounges in BKK were nominally BA anyway, whereas Singapore was Qantas, hence why BKK has always been a poor cousin like most BA out station lounges.

Anyway the current arrangement is the first class lounge is only open for the BA flight, which now leaves around miday rather than midnight. This is still a First Class/OWE lounge. The business lounge is also used by BA for this flight and Qantas. Who knows what deals etc have gone on in the back ground.

went in the QF lounge last month - boy has it seen better days...showers covered in grime, standard of catering has dropped, chips and nicks in the furniture.

i really just wanted a shower but next time I'll look in to the one of priority pass lounges for - CX is fine for my needs with a good selection of snacks and drinks and tarmac watching view.

BA is opposite QF now but never seems to be open. QF is open all day now for EK flights

Had experience of QF lounge this week. Tired condition. Staff congregating at entry to shower area. Didn't particularly want to eat after late lunch in our hotel.

Currently, the BKK lounge is showing 2 different closing times depending upon what days you fly.

M, W, F, Sat: 13:00 - 17:00
T, Th, Sun: 13:00 - 21:00

So what gives Red Roo - why is it closing over an hour prior to departure on some days? The flights depart at the same time *every* day and "daylight saving" doesn't wash for selected days being short-changed.
