Qantas Lounge in BKK

QF24 leaves at 1825 every day.
JQ31 leaves at 2215 Tues, Thurs, Sun.

So looks like it's closing over an hour prior to last QF/JQ departure EVERY day.

The lounge is not far from the usual gate. From memory QF24 wouldn't get called in the lounge until well under an hour to takeoff in the past.

Dont worry about the times online. They stay open until both qf and jq have departed.

Good that they stay open for the JQ flight. Unlike other lounges (eg MEL)

There are a few places that do, LST for one.

Bkk needs to remain open for JQ international flights with business class as they sell the flight with lounge access too.

They need to change their opening times on their website & "new improved app!" if they do remain open; totally confusing for those who *don't* fly often or for foreigners flying with QFi who have little or *no* idea of how the lounge operates.

Wow the BKK QF lounge must have gone downhill since I was there in Sept 2013 - was quite good I thought. Nice furniture, comfortable, good food and good wine.
Going back to BKK in October 2014 (hopefully will be a bit more peaceful then) so looking forward to using the lounge there on the way back to SYD.

I agree - was fine when I was there in Nov 13! Can't imagine how it could warrant some of the comments on here - something drastic must have happened or people are being dramatic (I know... On AFF? Never....)

Will have to pay attention when I'm there next.

I had a quick look this morning and nothing's really changed IMO.
Checked out the BA lounge too for good measure and that's frozen in time.
EK's reopening is now expected in July.

I agree too it isn't too bad. I guess the issue here is when Qantas introduces new product, be it new seat, new lounge, the punters here then expect all the 'old' stuff to be upgraded to the same standard.

So compared to the new Singapore or Hong Kong lounges, Bangkok is dated, but when looked at in isolation it is perfectly functional and a lot better than many lounges out there. The CX BKK lounge across the hall for example.

Anyone know if the 7:30am opening time accurate? And if so, why (just curious).

In June, I'm arriving on AY from HEL at 7:15am then JQ to MEL dep 10:25pm and will just hang in the QF lounge if it does in fact open at 7:30am.

Lounge Location | Thailand | Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport | International Business

It's sure open early in the afternoon (I was there last week). One reason could be that one of the CX lounges is being renovated and when I went to look at the other one, they said (after they saw I was OW) it's better to go to Qantas, which is a pretty decent lounge. The QF lounge still had breakfast food when I first arrived but changed it later to all day food.

So if it is due to CX renovations, opening times might change in the future.

Was there in Jan. The 7:30am opening is not every day (selected days). We showed up and it was closed at 8am-ish. I don't recall the opening days sorry.

Due to the time you have consider going to the Novotel airport hotel. They have a free shuttle. Day use of room can sometimes be cheap (need to depart by 6pm). You can swim, eat, relax, shower & change clothing and then free shuttle back to airport. It is what we do from an AY to QF connection out of BKK.

These were the posted times in January:

By June, the new CX (and maybe BA too?) lounge should be open so, in any event, there should be somewhere to hang out in the morning.
