Qantas Lounge Gold Coast

Doubt much can be done in 7 days...fresh coat of paint? Some new furniture? Nothing structural I reckon!

Installation of more hand dryers.

To be fair I don’t think it really needs any of that. Maybe opening a WP corner?

Maybe they could do what cruise ships do with interior cabins and have screens with live cameras of the apron?

Deep cleaning of the batter wand on the pancake machine?

As far as I recall, KTA Lounge doesn’t have a pancake machine, but I’m there again in the morning and if it does I’ll check out the wand… , it definitely doesn’t have rest rooms to install hand dryers in.

There is a lot of space they could expand into but I doubt much will change between 2nd and 10th December.

Those comments (at least mine) were in relation to OOL.

I noticed some decor and furnishings are getting tired in the QF int lounge. Chipped paint, worn seats, seats which lean back too easily. Will this be next?

I'm swinging through OOL on 24-Nov so will be able to comment on anything noticeable that's changed. I haven't been there in a couple of years though so might not be the best judge 🙈

Here are photos of the refreshed OOL Qantas Club after the November refurb.
New chairs, coffee tables, wall panels, USB c/A power outlets, and toilets look new too. 2 shower suites as before. Breakfast hot food was pancake from the machine, baked beans, bacon and scrambled eggs. Barrista coffee. All day dining included: Chicken and corn soup with dinner roll, and sandwich making assortments. Busy.

Yes - I was thinking if I wasn’t told it had been updated, I’d not have noticed. Except for the bamboo / wooden buffet bowls. Those look different 🤓

I just visited the OOL Qantas club yesterday (Sat 27th Dec 2025) and it was "ok".

When we arrived at around 3pm (flight to Melbourne was at 5:10pm) it wasn't too busy, We went to the food area, and the usual wraps, toasties options were there. There appeared to be 2 pots of hot food, but it was all gone (looked like some noodles in one pot, but couldn't tell what the other dish was). Anyway they took the pots away around 4pm, and my wife thought they might have been brining in more, but then we found out that the lounge closed when the last QFF flight departs (which was our Melbourne flight a 5:10pm)

By this stage, a lot more people had arrived, and I would say it was probably 80% capacity. i think its mostly JetStar passengers, who might have a Qantas club status using it.

After looking at this forum posts and seeing that it was "updated' I do think that most of the furniture and tables had been updated, however seeing that it was only closed for 1 week, i guess there wasn't any expectation of major changes.

I do wonder what is Qantas reason for even having a club at OOL, since as mentioned before, there are not a lot of Qantas flights from this airport anyway (Jetstar seems to be the most regular)

I used to fly JQ quite often out of OOL when 1/ I was going to the Gold Coast a bit more and 2/ the JQ MAX bundle gave you 30 status credits between OOL and MEL. No need to worry about having to plan around DSC offers in those days.

It was a nuisance if I had a JQ flight which didn’t coincide with lounge hours but usually I could get a JQ flight that would make the lounge hours work.

So in those days (till mid last year) it wasn’t just JQ passengers with QC membership, but also JQ passengers with QF status. I suspect the split between the two is now a lot more skewed.

Thx …. never knew that!! Opened for JQ passengers from 45 minutes before departure of the first JQ flight until boarding call for the last JQ flight of the day. Bet current JQ passengers who encounter its closure because it’s now timed around QF flights would be disappointed if they knew that.
