Qantas Lounge access for a bronze member

While we all want to get into the lounges, it is for QF frequent flyers, which you aren't. Why didn't you go Virgin if it's important?

"it is for QF frequent flyers" and their guests

I would like to avoid waiting for my flights in the terminal now I’ve got use to lounge access. Any thoughts appreciated.
If you are VA Gold/Platinum and not flying VA you can still take a "friend" that is flying VA to the lounge. If a "friend" is not flying then make a new friend in the VA terminal.

Yes I know this is not for everyone but in desperate times we seek desperate measures. The embarrassment only lasts the length of time it takes to ask someone if they want to visit a lounge.

Sorry, yes you're quite right. I got them mixed up.

Those one-day passes are still available, but can only be used in Admirals Club lounges anyway (not Qantas lounges) as far as I'm aware.

The AA website certainly lists a number of QP’s, so think access may be available. I’d have to check again if that’s for the annual membership or for both

You are right, I missed this bit of fine print

Partner lounges
Your Admirals Club membership also gives you access to over 60 partner lounges in select domestic and international destinations. One Day Pass holders and Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card authorized users do not have access to partner lounges.

Re Admiral's club based access. The 30 day thing was a membership which gave reciprocal access to QP when departing QF.

The day pass enables admission to any Admirals club the holder can physically access for one day. No need to be flying any specific airline.

You can see if you can purchase a Qantas Club Complimentary Invitation pass for a good price on ebay or gumtree. I picked up 4 passes for $130 on Gumtree this week.

I thought it was the other way around. The Gold/Platinum needs to be flying and the guest doesn't?

No. Gold/Platinum not flying can also guest someone who is flying. I've had a 100% success ratio and I've asked at both BNE and SYD lounges for clarification.

Just thinking of this post as I had to fly a Delta leg yesterday. I have a VN and KE but nothing on them and I didn't even consider to ask for lounge access. No loyalty - you don't expect to get in. I feel personally, if i did, i devalues it for all the FF and their loyalty.

Have a look at some trading websites. You might be able to buy a lounge pass, or perhaps someone here could give you one.
