Qantas LAX First Lounge

There are reports on FlyerTalk are the First lounge has been closed due to flooding (?!) with PAX directed to oneworld Business lounge.
Oops, I'm flying out of LA for the first time in ~10 years next month and was hoping to revisit the F lounge.

Hope I can at least access the dining area.

I was burned by that F lounge closure on July 4-th on on my way back from World Cup.
OW lounge was heavily overcrowded, had to wait over hr to be invited to First dining area and to take shower.
Sad, last time in December I was there with fam and wasn't allowed in with 2 kids, and now that....

Did you check out the AA Flagship Lounge?

No, I didn't. That was probably what I should have done....

Was in limbo, as I was given those Bluetooth beacons and told to wait for a spot in both the dining area and the showers, which I was assured would be available fairly quickly.
Plus, I had quite heavy carry-on bags, so I didn't bother moving to Terminal 4.

The AA Flagship Lounge was nice in Miami a couple of days earlier. At least there was zero hassle getting in, unlike with the United lounge....

I had United Platinum status, matched from Qantas Frequent Flyer, and was astonished to find out that they don't allow their own Platinum members access to the lounge when travelling on a domestic itinerary. I actually had to pay a fee to get in!
They did upgrade me to the "J" cabin on the flight from SFO to Austin, though.

Are there any further info about when it might reopen? I’ll be passing through LAX in the first week of September and possibly looking to use a friends WP1 benefit first lounge passes.

Initial reporting of its closing came late last month including 3rd party anecdotes along the lines of "could be two months".

I have come across nothing further.

It is hearsay but September may be OK based on that.

I am quite interested in timing as well; coming through late August and also early September.

Some information has been posted online, but still nothing further about reopening.

The Los Angeles First Lounge is temporarily closed due to the impact of recent flooding. During this time, we’d like to invite you to use The Los Angeles Business Lounge located on level 5, so you can continue to relax and unwind before your flight.
Also, more detail posted on FlyerTalk:

I went through and was pleasantly impressed with the temporary offering.

From flyertalk it seemed like only P1 and ticketed F would be provided a la carte dining. However, as a regular WP I was walked to the dining area by the lounge dragon at the entrance.

Turns out there's a smaller menu available for WP vs P1 or F, though WP still gets the full coughtail menu. The WP menu was still fairly substantial and included fish, minute steak, squid, laksa, burger - better then the AKL dining offering. Will post a picture later.

They also set aside a couple of showers for people in the F area so there was no waiting.

Overall the F area was quieter as well, though maybe there weren't many status/F pax flying through. The main area was quite busy though.

Good to know. I'm going through twice as a Qantas WP in the next few weeks.

One travelling LAX-DFW on AA, the other LAX-BNE on QF. Both times in economy.

It'll be interesting to see if there are any access differences.
