The Qantas First lounge at LAX is back fully operational, visited this evening on arrival from MEL connecting through to Chicago - had a 4 hour layover so walked over via the AA T4 back passage.. it did close at 10:30pm after the last Qantas flight so moved over here to the AA Flagship for the last hour before connection.

It was light on traffic, fully staffed and service was as good as pre-covid levels (which was always great).. the flight over on Qantas J was also excellently staffed and serviced as has been the case all year.

aka “T4 connector” in polite company... 😀

Which was better between the F lounge and the AA F lounge?
QF F lounge by a long long way especially in regards to food and service - take a seat anywhere and your waitered on for both F&B, or of course go directly to the restaurant and long bar.

In my view, AA Flagship is much better food and service wise then the QF/OW Business at LAX but falls well short of the QF F now that it's available again.

Flagship is a buffet style of a much larger scale then the OW Business but it's still only a buffet.

This is the Chicago Flagship lounge buffet which I might add is far nicer then the LAX one.

Yeah, I much prefer the DFW Flagship over the LAX one, much bigger, though the scrambled egg had a weird texture when I was in the DFW one last week :)

Haven't had a chance to use the re-opened First at LAX yet.

Hello all, I called up the Qantas premium number to enquire about the LAX Qantas First Lounge and was told it is closed. I see from this thread that it was open earlier this month, so was wondering whether anyone had been more recently. Of course, I'm quite happy to believe that QF Customer Service doesn't have updated information :) Thank you.

It’s definitely open. The phone advice you received was wrong.

I can recommend the spicy stir fried pork (w/rice) and the sundae as quite delicious. Service was a little spotty the other night - I was there after the main rush so they weren't totally busy (and QF12 was delayed) so was a tad disappointed that some things took awhile and the crew on duty seemed a little less attentive than usual (but since it was post the main rush they may have been buggered). anyway minor quibble really as it was all good with the WA Rieseling a delicious drop and a decent coffee for a change after a few weeks in the US :)

I wish they would change up the "fast food" offerings.. it's been the same bland Hamburger on offer for years!

Agree on the sundae though, always delicious!

True. the buger, bowl of chips and minute steak (plus the squid of course) have been staples of the lounge.

I don't mind it tbh. I guess they're those dependable staples you could (usually) rely on and that works for some people, while some of the other seasonal options allow for different tastes and options which is good too.

I had in 'n' out for lunch so the lounge burger was just not going to cut it in that dept, but really it makes perfect sense ex-LAX to have it. A bit of comfort foot for sure.

I cannot seem to find a LAX F lounge thread... so here is the current all day menu (with some pics). Apologies for the poor quality.

S&P Squid. Not bad but doesn't compare to the BNE Chairmans lounge (which I consider to the be the best).

Minute steak. Not bad but a little overdone.

Champers

Compare with AA Flagship...

Whilst the food pales in comparison... at least AA has a view...
