Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thats a great development! The previous lounge was awful. The problem with the Virgin lounge is, it is closed when the Qantas flight takes off, so couldn’t get access.

We flew JNB-SYD mid-August and were directed to the Aspire lounge. Tried BA but it was closed and didn't open until we were boarding.

I wouldn't describe the Aspire lounge as awful -- the bathrooms and shower were quite nice -- and we found a comfy spot to pass the time with a beverage or three.

After the BA Lounge I also thought Bidvest was the next best.

Mid June flying QF J I was directed to the Aspire lounge - it was next best after Bidvest.

Just flew in Nov 2023 from Johannesburg to Sydney.

Was directed to Aspire Lounge at check in / manually written on boarding pass.

Virgin Atlantic advised they were no longer accepting Qantas customers since March 2023. They don’t use Priority Pass/LoungeKey either.

BA lounge had signs showing they only open at 3pm, and another sign stating 4pm, however the entry had 2 staff standing there and they confirmed I could enter if flying Qantas Business (this was around 2pm). Nice showers here and good charging points nearly everywhere (fits AU plug without adapter). Lots of staff around to help with anything, and you can order off a smallish selection of hot and cold food with QR code on tables (in addition to what is out on display). Could only see water on tap here?

The Apsire Lounge wasn’t bad either. I was expecting it to be loud and busy, but in fact the BA Lounge was busier (but still quiet inside, with most people minding their their own business and working on laptops or sitting in the lounge chairs). Aspire Lounge had some things BA Lounge didn’t have, like bottled water, crème soda cans, chocolate cake, etc :)
