Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As an aside, it's genuinely interesting that the OP has still not returned.

Is it interesting? I'd call it unremarkable. If they dare to not return within a day or so, "oh its a one-post-wonder" has been a nasty call-out by some for as long as I've been on AFF. Regular AFFers seem to assume that newbies have the same need to get daily or hourly fixes of AFF - for the most part, they don't. We hope that may get into the swing of it, but sometimes, having been sneered at as "one post wonders", they don't bother returning, and who could blame them.

There was one well-known case where the OP was really 'taken down' by multiple members for being a 'one post wonder', but yes, they came back, after a week, excusing the fact of not returning sooner because, IIRC, their wife just had a baby.

I try to maintain a 'be nice to newbies' policy and give them the benefit of the doubt. If they don't return - who cares? If they stay and stir, well, there are ways to deal with that.

Personally, from what I've seen here (and thanks to the OP for raising the issue 🙂 ), there doesn't seem like much gouging going on, except for last minute fares, but then so what else is new?

No sale between BNE and MEL...

Correct and no Mel-Cns. :(

Not sure but given the limited dates in the sale, JQ/QF maybe be assuming the QLD border may not be open in early-mid July?

I did find some good fares outside the sale in Sept/Oct20 that were better than I paid in a sale in Nov19.

Yeah it was more just a polite headsup to the forum regulars that it *may* have been bait intended to start a big barney, so that people don't go in boots and all.

As I mentioned in post #16.

If you see an issue then use the report function but other than that let the moderation team worry about whether the OP is going to create a problem or not.

Remember you are only seeing when they last logged in which may not be the last time they looked at the thread or forum.

I don't think there's any gouging per se. Qantas is running the minimum number of flights required to meet their charter obligations. These flights are full, so many of the tickets are more expensive than they would be if there were more flights and more seat availability.
These are strange times and it goes with the territory.
