In theory, yes. You'll also get 1,000 Qantas points for your trouble. If you book on the QF website you can make a same-day Price Promise claim: Price Promise | Qantas

Just be careful though. You can only make one submission, and QF are very strict about the terms & conditions being followed, so make sure you read the T&Cs of what is included and excluded thoroughly before making your claim. If your claim is denied (even on a technicality) you will have ended up paying more to book with QF and won't be entitled to anything back.

FWIW I've made a claim once and it was successful, though the points and refund took many months to get processed and I kept having to chase them up about it...

Will be travelling to Perth in November and looking at staying at Hyatt Regency. Booking direct with hotel or via Expedia, price for 3 nights is approx $550. Booking via Qantas is an extra $100ish but bonus FF points of 4110.

I did read on their website that Qantas do price match but I need to make a booking first and send them the other rates for them to possibly match. If successful, they'll refund the difference plus offer a bonus 1000 FF points.

Has anyone successfully claimed a price match with Qantas?

Here's everything you need to know about our Hotel Price Promise offer: Price Promise | Qantas (refer to the section "To claim you need:")

Having to make a booking first is a bit rich, like go to a store buy a TV then hope they'll refund the difference from a cheaper quote - really.

Some people are quite good with best rate/price promise guarantees.

The few times I tried they weasel out of the best rate using the fine print. I just book where I see the best net value not potential value.

Yes book for best price found. Usually find as a member on booking.com excellent, we have used a lot.

The way Qantas like to reject these kind of things (with no recourse or amendments allowed), I'd want more than 1000 FF points to take the risk.

I have been successful in the past, but it was a long, drawn out process.

If you do decide to book through Qantas, make sure you've carefully read every point on the terms & conditions page. As long as your claim meets all of the criteria, you should be successful.
