Why are mother in laws so despised? I’ve sorted several award flights for my DIL so I think I deserve some respect.
I really like my mum in law, cook for her a couple of times per week and nag my husband to be more patient with her. But my husbands mother in law - Oy, I support the one way ticket comment. ;)

You're not my mother in law, not sure how what you've done for your daughter in law has anything to do with me. I've no opinion about you as a mother in law.
Maybe read your post again. Specifically ‘is there anyone’ etc etc.

I make no comment or assumption on whoever a person may or may not be.

sexist? so you assume Im a man? women never have an issue with their mother in law? What was that about the pot and the kettle...

Edit: I should be flattered you think I'm one of the boys... :|

With respect to your points about the blocking of your account @penu, I believe it's been answered and all your can do is put your hand up and say you were wrong.

To make new flights, you can always book without signing into your account and then if they unblock your account later, go back into the booking and add your QFF number. If it's a revenue flight and you fly before they add, you may be able to advise QFF later and have them credited.

Sad that after all you have done for her, your DIL feels that way.

I've read it, you're still not my mother inlaw. You arranging tickets for a daughter in law is still not getting a ticket for a mother in law. please spare me the insults and confected outrage.

Well besides labelling people infantile and sexist... pretty big assumptions there

Not sure why mother in law is included - is there anyone who'd buy the mother in law a flight?
I have, SQ J to SIN and back I also sprung for the 7 nights accomodation - Conrad, most meals, transfers, taxis, entry to attractions etc.

My mother in law had never flown J, stayed in a 5 star property, been to a airport or hotel lounge etc. It was nice to see her enjoy the experience. I did get a $100.00 iTunes gift card in appreciation, from memory MissM claimed it. :)

All such options would be covered by Defacto and domestic partner. where not already covered by other options. For example a sister who identifies as male can be classified as a brother. 💡

The OP could've selected defacto, that'd be the safe option. Pretty hard for Qantas (as opposed to the cops or ATO) to prove otherwise. Domestic partner, yep they come and clean my house every week, helping to maintain our domestic partnership...

Interesting to note cousin is not an option, but is now first cousin. So my cousins children can't get a flight from me. Not sure why mother in law is included - is there anyone who'd buy the mother in law a flight?

I have chosen cousin before

With respect QF WP, everyone here is making assumptions about why the account was blocked, including yourself. You and the others may well be proven correct at a later date but there are still other possibilities.

Given the OP him/herself said it was with the fraud team for investigations and that they had booked a flight for someone other than themselves/a relative would suggest the combined experience here (this is hardly the first time someone has posted the same scenario on AFF of others ites - e.g. Flyertalk) is probably correct. Sure, it may always prove different this time but unsure why we would expect this given very similar stories have played out a number of times before.

Given the political proclivities of Qantas, I'm amazed that there's not a plethora of non-gender, non-hierarchical, non-misogynistic relationships defined as allowable ...

Regards,

BD
You can add to that the option to change the colour on your QF app from red to 'rainbow'...
