I've just noticed this message under one of my bookings !

  • Has anyone tried to use this for their green leaf ?
  • If so, was the green leaf awarded when you redeemed the points or when the flight(s) were completed ?
I had issues with this last year from memory, paid with points after the booking. Took months and multiple calls to Manila to get it awarded.

+1 & I recently stayed at the Crystallbrook Kingsley. She received the green leaf and 150 Green bonus points the next day. That was the first I'ld heard of a "Green Bonus" (first "green hotel" I've booked) but, yes, there is a 150 point bonus per night for booking an eco hotel; it was also the fasted receipt of a leaf I've seen. She is still waiting for the standard points (it's only been two weeks so we're not expecting them for another couple of weeks yet).

We also stayed at the Mercure Hunter Valley for the two nights following the Kingsley. Those points posted 2 days after check-out! (Go figure.) But she is still to receive the 25% points club bonus points.

The following week +1 received 3,000 points described as "Qantas Hotels Booking - Bonus Points". There was a promotion where you earned 2,000 points for spending $500+, but where did the additional 1,000 come from?

As the Crystallbrook was her fifth green leaf she received the email a day later and happily accepted the 50 status credits.

I’m closing in on the end of the membership year. Again cutting it fine as once my most recent travel posts I’ll be sitting 40 SC short of WP retain.

So in the remaining 12 days I’m looking to Green Tier to get across the line.

I’ve sorted out the learning and flying leaves.

Just reading through this thread it seems like Red Energy is not the way to go even though this might be a possibility to pick up the lifestyle leaf, Recycle smart looks complicated for me and there isn’t time.

It looks like I ll be buying some wine, donating and forking out for a stay at a hotel on the list. Given the limited time I’m wanting to confirm that the leaves for these post when booked and paid for rather than when the stay takes place?

Just running the numbers to see if I can qualify one last time...
jeez they really made it much harder with the recent round of changes to requirements.
This Resmart program looks like a lot of cost and hassle (as worthy as it may be).

:/

Let us know how you go... with a July 1st new-year I'd like to get one more across the line too

I think I'm just going to use the green power option with red energy. I imagine it will be slow to get the Leaf credited. But I have a bit of time up my sleeve. I ran the numbers and their non-green power rates are competitive. So worst case scenario I wait until the Leaf lands, then consider whether to keep the green power add on. It's a good incentive to reduce power usage 👍🏻

Added the GreenPower for the leaf as well, I got the leaf the day after the next monthly bill came out. So it is actually quite quick.

I’m sitting on 3 of 5 🌱 but will let GT rundown and won’t bother for the final year.

Fortunately, PC+ is in reach for the first time and 100 SC rollover is much more accessible than 50 SC via GT!

Both would be good but not to be…

Green power was about 5 cents more as I recall, and simple enough to cancel once tick comes thru. Of course using less power is always to be applauded

GreenPower is an extra 3.3c/kWh incl. GST, so I don't think it's a huge burden for the quarter where my power bills are historicaly low. I've subscribed. Already have 4 of 5 GT leaves activated after 12 days, so not a huge effort for 50 SC.

I completed my 3 Resmart paid pickups within 6 months for my second (and final) year. The Resmart app has the three ticks but after contacting Resmart they said the app only updates the first time… which was last year.
They told me it will take 4-6 weeks for the leaf to show up on the Qantas portal.
A lot of effort for 50SC.

I'm struggling to log in to the qantas wellbeing app - I've defaulted to saveful for now, but is there any way of getting the wellbeing app working? It seems like a faster way of getting that leaf.

Anyway, I've just done my first survey in saveful - wondering if there are any anecdotes on how quickly the saveful leaf comes through. I have 30 days to hit green tier as I will be 23 SC short of WP before I fly long haul to the UK. My other option is to pay out of pocket to upgrade a work flight or to do some tiny status run, so on the whole I think GT will be cheapest for me.

For the rest, I'm planning on (not) staying at an eco hotel, which is a remarkably un-green thing to do, order wine, have already donated points yesterday (leaf posted today!), and offset a flight.

just seen the following on the qantas site;
Sorry, we’re experiencing technical issues with the Qantas Wellbeing App functionality. We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please try again soon.
I'll keep trying to log in every day or so in the meantime.

Can't help with saveful question but re the Wellbeing App, it has given us grief for the past 36 hours @burneracc !

I just completed my last leaf with Qantas Wine, if you haven't done so, this can be a cost effective and quick way to get a leaf.

Thanks to a poster upthread who suggested Oxford Landing x 6 bottles for $71, with PC+ 10% discount and a $50 voucher came to ~$14, leaf should post within a few days.

Upgrading your flight will not give you extra SC's I believe, only the class originally booked.
Good luck!

Can confirm Wellbeing App is not currently working, It's been like this for around 72 hours. Have tried the traditional Uninstall and Reinstall. But this time it's really broken.
