Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

3 of us flying first tonight to Melbourne and one is a P1. Has to been established if there are any off menu items worth asking for? Tattinger looked like it was available a few months ago but wondering if anybody has had any experience recently?
Just noting the Taittinger (Brut & Rosé NVs) has been standard fare for all guests when I've been there... though I've not been up there since early in the year

I had Taittinger this month, flying F. They didn't pour the bottle at the table though.

I was told Tattinger was the off-menu option at the start of the month also.

Party of four - two guests flying QF F and a P1 & WP flying BA (due to QF cancellation) seated in the P1 area.

Disappointing if that sticks as an 'off-menu' option only... we're not fans of the Lallier (or whatever else they were pouring), so would likely just go without

Penfolds 802 has been there on and off over the last few months.

On the quiet.

In the above instance, the server knew I was in F (hence the Taittinger), but when asked about off menu reds, said nothing was available.
Maybe they ran out of stock.

We were escorted to the very back section (but seems like an P1/CL thing as there are only 5 tables of people here despite there being 20 people in first across QF1 and Qf38 tonight) and they let me skip the half an hour shower queue which was a welcome surprise.

We have also been given an escort to the plane.

Food was tasty, dumplings are lovely and my go to. Duck was good too. Forgot to take pictures before I ate.

I used to detour to the Qatar lounge for the coughtails - but now that QF is onboard with classic coughtails, I do head straight to the QF F lounge
I find the Qatar lounge miles better than the Qantas one but that’s definitely because I cannot have any seafood at all. And I find the option of a Rosé champagne alone a reason to prefer QR. Everyone has different priorities.

Yes indeed. For me, it's the ambience and space of the QR lounge that draws me in.

I like the QF F food, but a 240 person capacity in 1000 sqm is ridiculously dense for an F lounge (especially one that is also near capacity on a daily basis)

QR J has just an 85 person capacity across 700 sqm, offering roughly double the sqm per person, and on top of that, is rarely actually full in my experience.

That explains well.
I was thinking a quieter space or more food options, especially early evening in QF F could be crowded due to the early evening departures to Australia.

It gets fuller closer to QR departure at late night. I was there waiting for the red eye JL flight.

That said when I say fuller, its still nothing like QF F during peak or Silverkris on the other side. Silverkris can be a real zoo.

The other key difference crowd wise, is pretty much every OWE flying whY will head to the QF F lounge (because they can and QR requires a OW J or F tix). Exception might be some BA elites who can’t go past BA lounges…🤷‍♂️).

If originating in SIN and getting to the airport around opening time, the QF F is very quiet for quite sometime. It really fills up as the various QF flights to/from SIN (including QF1/2) pass thru. There are also various QF codeshare flights that are eligible for access for WPs.

Non OWE flying J would be silly not going to the QR J (if it’s open). The QF J lounge is actually quite decent but will have all QP, SG and most OWS flying in whY as well as J PAX who don’t know better!

Note that last Sunday I came through on QF1 which was on time. At the QR lounge I was advised there would be no hot food available.

It seems what was the ~2am flight currently departs after 3am and so QR lounge hot food catering falls outside the QF1 window.

Agreed, QF F lacks anywhere really to actually lounge and relax. Just a … albeit quite high quality … food hall.
