Hey guys,

Was wondering if someone could kindly help me with your experience. My membership year for QFF is June. If I were to earn status credits near the end of May would they expire a few days later? Thanks in advance :)

Status credits are wiped on your anniversary date, even if they credit after that date, as its based on the date of earn.

Absolutely, all your status credits will expire at the end of your membership year. Mate, its all about planning.

They expire for that year for Tier Advancement (and for the Loyalty Reward)
but obviously count for Lifetime Status.

Membership year ends at the end of the month given - eg If your card/account says March 2015, you will lose all your SCs earned for the year up to Mar 31. As Moa says though they count for lifetime stays accrual.

Start again from the start, as the others say, do the planning.
I plan to keep PS by making an annual return flight ADL to MEL/SYD to AKL in J, gives me 10 SC off a guaranteed PS, 240+10 more.
If you are at NB and want to start biting at SG, you could do a return SYD/MEL/BNE to AKL with a QF coded flight, but flying EK in J, or even one way F-120 QF SC one way in F, return J earns you 160, plus a few dom flights and you have gotten 250 which gets you PS, add a J from MEL to SIN, and you could get 700, thats SG, but after SG, it will be hard to get to WP unless someone else is paying, 500 SC to climb from SG to WP.
Edit: another tip, is that if you live in SYD or MEL and don't want to go to NZ, you can still feel the lux of the QFi lounges, by flying (on certain days on JQ), as a dom passenger on a int flight, in J plus bundle. Earns you 1400 QF FF points and 40 QF SC. Only $399 plus $80 for bundling, equals $479 - cheapest J class earning for a QF FF member in Au!
Need photo ID to get through Au immi dep and arr though.

Poochie, just to correct one thing, to attain WP is 1400 SCs - that's 700 more than hitting SG first time and 800 more than if retaining. I know - I've been up and down a few times!
The QFi J lounges are hardly 'lux' - F is special - but J is not too different from Dom.

How many SC's are you referring to here ... how much would you be short of the upgraded status and what status are you targeting?

Is it possible to change the anniversary date?
Only if you are gifted with Partner Gold from a Platinum or Partner Platinum from a Platinum One. Your anniversary date would be the same as their anniversary date.

Compared to dom J lounge/QP, the int J lounge has a wow factor to it. To those of you who use the int J lounge all the time, of course, its nothing to crow about.
I have not ever seen shiao mai/or Asian meat buns in the dom J lounge, but had my fill in the int J lounge. Also, while the int J lounge is narrower, and a tad smaller (at SYDi), the turn around of people vacating gives a better chance of a seat.
I have been in the dom J lounge at SYD, for an 8.10pm dep, wow, chockers. Food was looking a bit bare too.
Your QF FF membership year cannot be changed. It starts from when you first join, the 12 months later, the QF SCs go "off to die". You keep the QF FF points though.
To retain, yair, thats easy, less points overall, but to attain first (WP esp), now thats the hard part, a very big one (step) from SG to WP.

While we're at it QFF membership year can change, as already mentioned in thread.

I've had the experience of a flight scheduled to leave around 2300 April 30th, delayed until about 0050 takeoff, but still credited in the previous year a few days later. The SCs never even had a chance to be useful ... :(

Apart from the case of the partner of a WP/P1, no one else can change their month of membership year, can they?
Mine ends in July each year, I can't change the ball game (month to suit myself).
I have to make sure I have enough QF SC to get to the minimum to retain by 31 Jul each year, I can't go and the QF Loyalty, o, I am a bit short, can I move my membership year into Aug, can I?

Not to my knowledge. I wanted an aligned date with mrs GPH. But no go. And bear in mind. Her date is end July. Mine is end August. I would be happy to have one 11 month year to make this happen.
