Dumb question alert for the brains trust: Is it possible to make a standalone Qantas classic rewards booking with Emirates from Malta to Larnaca (Cyprus)? Either by calling Qantas, or somehow online.

I can't get Malta to appear as a destination unless I start with a multi-city first leg in Rome FCO, but the routing is bad (from Rome, to London, then on to Malta), and charges don't make it worth it.

So it looks like some routes from Australia to North America in EK F are available again through the regular booking engine BUT they now seem to price each leg separately.

So where I'd paid 227.5K points (and a heap of cash) before 5 August for SYD-DXB-SEA, it now costs 390.8K points (and a heap of cash) being 195.4Kx2.

The flights are still not showing up on the multi-city booking engine, mind you...

There’s something definitely going wrong with the various search methods.

I’m getting fundamental broken website errors…

HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request

If I try and search Aug 2026 using the MC search….

I just booked a HKG-DXB-FCO flight where the first flight is in J and the second to EU is in F for 2 pax

I had to book it as a married flight segment and could not book separate legs

I think this error is displayed whenever there is absolutly no award in any class available for your research in MC

For your SYD-DXB-SEA, you may have to call to get it point priced correctly. I think I saw a similar issue with a BA booking on the website, but on the call it was priced correctly, mind you I may have beed confused by the old vs new chart.

No, you get a “Bugga off” there’s no award seat error. eg try searching for ANY MU award seat.

I was specifically searching SYD-DXB and get that 400 error.

ah ok. I definitly got this error on some other (non EK) route that I was looking at recently, and after a while, I concluded that this error was thrown when nothing was available.

Interestingly I called the QF call centre (Bronze QFF) and I was informed by the operator (option to book with points) that there was indeed classic rewards availability in F for both legs for 2 pax but was then informed by the operator that he could not take the points and needed to transfer me to someone who could

When I was transferred, I was told that the flights could only be booked in J as no availability was showing (consistent with QF regular search) and could not see the MC search where the F flight was available.

I was told to book online as he could not do it from his end

My conclusion is that QF is withholding flights from QFF's - the question is why?

That wouldn’t surprise me. As they try and bring the two search engines closer together they break bits.

Except there are some F seats bookable.

Yes there are some available but why only some?

Also which routes are now available?
